La Clínica de La Raza is seeking dynamic individuals to fill the role of Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician I (III) at one or more School-Based Health Centers (SBHC) located in Alameda County. Our SBHC sites are located on elementary, middle and high-school campuses. The successful candidate will have proven experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment and experience working with school-aged children and adolescents. The ideal candidate will be a strong advocate for youth health services, be committed to the principles of adolescent health, harm reduction and youth development, and have a demonstrated understanding of adolescent development and mandated reporting laws. Cultural agility is key in serving our culturally diverse population. Bilingual English/Spanish (possibly other Asian/Southeast Asian languages) is preferred, but not required. At the SBHC sites, our integrated core services are medical, mental health, clinical health education and community health education, with some sites offering dental services. All services are based in the tenets of health and wellness, social justice, and youth leadership. SBHC staff works as part of a team to provide seamless and coordinated care to young people. As a core member of the multidisciplinary SBHC team, the successful candidate will work closely with the Nurse Practitioner, Health Educator and school faculty and community partners to exchange referrals. Your central responsibilities will include screening, psychosocial/ psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention/stabilization, short term therapy, BH panel management and psycho-education for individuals, families, and groups, individualized treatment planning, goal setting, collateral services, progress monitoring, and care coordination. Additionally, you will formulate a provisional DSM-IV TR 5-axis diagnosis which is reviewed and established under the license of the clinical supervisor. As an IBHC III, you will co-manage client care under the direction of a licensed supervisor. You will participate in program development to improve program quality and to expand BH services by providing input and recommendations. You will be required to meet minimum encounter productivity goals on a monthly basis, and regularly review clinical interventions and case documentation with supervisor. The IBHC III role is most suited to and requires an LCSW or PsyD/PhD with 2 years of experience in a medical/social service setting providing counseling/therapy and crisis intervention services for youth and adolescents. Additionally, the individual in this position will be well versed in modalities of short term counseling/treatment, including CBT, solution-focused counseling and Motivational Interviewing. Overall success in this position will require top-notch organizational skills, a high degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients, and a genuine passion for serving youth and improving the overall health and wellness of Oakland communities.
