Details: JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all types of maintenance repairs including pump/compressor repair, gearbox repair, agitator repairs, pipe fitting, and all utility systems. Responsible for all types of preventive and predictive maintenance on all types of equipment using various methods and test equipment. Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions. Must have basic computer knowledge to use computerized maintenance management system as well as other plant computer systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Must be able to install all types of couplings, chains, sprockets, and belts. 2. Must be able to lift, carry, push/pull materials, tools, or equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. 3. Must be capable of climbing ladders or scaffolding systems. 4. Must be able to work in confined spaces while utilizing appropriate respiratory equipment. 5. Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, crouch, or crawl to inspect or repair various types of equipment. 6. Must be able to properly rig using chokers, slings, grab chains, cables, chain hoist, and etc. for lifting in a safe manner. 7. Must understand and abide by Plant Safety Rules, and Safe Work Practices and Procedures. 8. Must understand the use, limitation and requirements for Personal Protective Equipment for various chemical exposures. 9. Must know how to properly de-energize a piece of equipment and perform test / try to insure the energy has been isolated. 10. Must be familiar with all hand tools and their proper use. 11. Be able to measure, cut, thread, and properly make up screwed pipe joints up to 3” in diameter. 12. Be able to install copper and alloy tubing using the proper fittings and tools. 13. Be able to perform piping repairs including measuring, cutting, threading, and assembly. 14. Know the different types of process pumps, compressors, gearboxes, their characteristics, and how to troubleshoot. 15. Be able to troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect, and replace a typical mechanical seal and verify the proper seal installation. 16. Know care/handling and failure causes of bearings and be able to perform replacement on equipment 17. Be able to maintain valves, traps and condensate pumps associated with the system. 18. Be familiar with Word and Excel. 19. Be familiar with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and vernier calipers and be able to take accurate measurements with same. 20. Be able to interpret basic mechanical and piping drawings/sketches and install equipment per drawings. 21. Understand the basics of lubrication and its importance, with a working knowledge of oil and grease applications. 22. Be able to perform precision alignment using dial indicators or laser alignment as required. 23. Be able to troubleshoot and make basic repairs on all types of mobile equipment used in the Stepan Plant, including, gas, propane and diesel powered vehicles and heavy equipment. 24. Be able to perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on air compressors and dryers. 25. Be able to perform non-routine maintenance and adjustments on rotating equipment utilizing appropriate manufacturers maintenance manuals from equipment files. 26. Have a basic working knowledge of pneumatic and electronic instruments to troubleshoot minor instrument problems. 27. Understand the importance of properly documenting preventive maintenance inspections and task checklists. Due to the nature of potential equipment and facilities related breakdowns, fluctuations of products and manufacturing schedules and the urgency of new equipment installations, the Maintenance Mechanic's working hours must be flexible and the individual must be available for scheduled overtime, and, at times, emergency overtime. Successful candidate shall be comfortable working in a chemical plant environment. You will develop new sales opportunities and optimize existing accounts to increase product market share and new product introduction. Your profile Candidates should have a strong technical aptitude in machining and tooling, and possess a minimum of five (5) years of relevant and successful sales experience. Additionally, you should possess the demonstrated ability to work independently from a home office supporting industrial customers in an assigned territory. You should have a consultative mind-set and be comfortable working with stakeholders from the shop floor to senior management. Additionally, you have expertise in new business development, qualifying, developing and securing new customer accounts through distribution and/or direct end-user channels. A strong mechanical aptitude and prior experience in a related field is vital. Experience with metal cutting tooling (indexable cutting tooling) and CNC machining is preferred. SUMMARY: Works independently with business partners to identify and implement medium to large technical projects, as defined by Company methodology, such as: broad-based information systems, full life-cycle application development, building enterprise applications, or data warehouse planning and development. Directs system analysts, software designers, and programmers to determine best methods to achieve project objectives. Responsible for applying project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems. Fulfills all responsibilities of a project manager which includes managing all aspects of a project (including initiating, planning, executing, closing, and controlling). MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Coaches and mentors project team members. * Mentors other project managers concerning project management methodology. * Determines project scope. * Develops: * Resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans. * Training plans. * Requirements documents. * Project approval matrix. * Defines, recommends, and secures contractual agreements for technical services and products. * Coordinates requirements, schedules implementation and post-implement plans, and develops service-level agreements for vendor partners and global resources firms. * Defines quality gates for each project methodology phase. * Defines critical success factors. * Establishes and manages the project warranty period. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * Requires BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with IT focus degree. * PMP Certification. * 5 years of project management experience in: * Broad-based information systems. * Full life-cycle application development and/or building enterprise applications and/or data warehouse planning and development. * Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
