Fleet and Equipment Mechanic

Details: Fleet and Equipment Mechanic Longwood Gardens Inc., the world’s premier horticultural display garden, located in Kennett Square, PA has an opening for a full time, Fleet and Equipment Mechanic. This individual will be performing repairs and preventative maintenance on all Longwood fleet vehicles and equipment. We are looking for someone to perform skilled mechanical duties, which include diagnosing and repairing, in addition to performing preventative maintenance on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment (500+ units). This individual will also be involved with ordering parts and maintaining inventory, working with local parts vendors. Expertise in operating various “tools of the trade" such as ODB II scan tool, electronic wheel balancer, tire changing machine, air tools, vehicle lifts, multimeter, brake lathe, charging system tester, emission computer, etc. Individual will perform state safety and emissions inspections on fleet vehicles. Individual will also be required to train staff on pre-usage equipment inspection and general operation. Ability to operate a rollback truck to provide on-property recovery of vehicles required. This position also requires participation on off-hours snow operations mechanic on-duty coverage when required.
