Details: As part of a Level II Trauma Center, the TICU unit is an exciting, fast paced 8-bed unit, caring for critically ill trauma patients including both blunt and penetrating injuries. TICU has 24-hour physician coverage, and daily rounds are made with the entire healthcare team. The staff is all registered nurses with Trauma Nurse Critical Care (TNCC) certification. LA Best Babies Network is dedicated to achieving healthy pregnancies and births in Los Angeles County by providing the infrastructure, programs, advocacy, and support to increase the capacity of community partners to succeed in these efforts. The Policy Analyst will specialize in researching complex issues, crafting possible solutions, and recommending policy actions related to developing funding streams for Perinatal Home Visitation services in Los Angeles County. The person in this position works closely with the LA County Department of Public Health Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Programs as part of the Perinatal Home Visitation Consortium and is responsible for developing and disseminating information on selected Perinatal Home Visitation policy issues. This includes writing white papers that require completion of literature searches, interviews, and data analysis; representing the Network at community meetings and meetings with health and business leaders to increase public awareness. This individual also oversees the technical assistance related to the policy and advocacy strategies implemented by the Network. This position works directly with the Executive Director and Director of Programs to ensure that all policy and advocacy activities described in the scope of work will be completed.
