The compliance engineer must communicate with site personnel and the appropriate level of management on the status of various site issues. This role is also responsible for communicating with on-site NRC resident inspectors, regional inspectors, and headquarters staff on site issues as required. The compliance engineer performs support of operability and reportability determinations, provides interpretations and evaluations of existing and proposed Technical Specifications, regulations, requirements, and guidelines in support of plant operations, and also provides support of UFSAR revisions and updates for Licensing Basis Documents. Additional support functions include the support of Operations, Engineering, and other station groups as needed with licensing and design basis issues. This role evaluates potential cross-cutting aspects of NRC findings or violations in accordance with applicable regulations, and assists in managing the training needs for Regulatory Compliance personnel as required Working Conditions Office and plant environment. Typical work hours are 4-10 hour days, Monday through Thursday Additional hours may be required to support emergent problems including weekend and holiday work. In addition, this role will be responsible for ensuring contracting and procurement standards and overall vendor compliance are maintained throughout the portfolio. Other duties may include identifying and leading various sourcing initiatives aimed at improving vendor performance, reducing cost and managing assigned vendor relationships as it relates to administrative and operational activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee vendor pre-qualification, negotiation, selection, debriefing, performance monitoring, and feedback activities. Establish and maintain appropriate client relationships. Ensure functional support to all lines of business, support areas, and other client groups. Ensure effective contracts planning, implementation and execution. Coordinate with clients, support groups, and vendors to ensure: establishment and maintenance of adequate controls, compliance with contractual requirements, utilization of best business practices, input and analysis in response to management inquiries regarding contract related matters, timely and professional contract administration support, active interface and support of field operations. Coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager, Legal and Risk Management groups, Property and Project Management groups to maintain consistency in form, nature, scope, and execution of contracts within guidelines and appropriate business practices. Work closely with team members in the Supply Chain Management group located in other geographies and will ensure processes and approaches are consistent across the account. Assist in coordinating meetings with internal and external teammates to discuss Vendor Performance as required. Closely participate in and with the client and Lincoln Harris Property Management, Engineering, Project Management, Compliance, & Critical Facilities teams to drive both immediate and sustained benefits to the client. Prepare formal client ready documents including reports and presentations. Provide discrete and confidential handling of sensitive information. Improve communications with operations team; provide management, detailed instruction, and continuous follow-up to support the operations teams in standardized RFP/bid and contract processes; proactively manage internal and external customer expectations.
