Details: Our client requires paralegal support services to include direct legal support, clerical and administrative support, and automated litigation assistance in their Grand Jury Unit. Duties and Responsibilities: Assists with major Legal Assistance duties Supports paralegal staff review and assessment of law enforcement agency and court case files. Assists paralegal and staff in retrieving files from storage and logging and tracking such files. Supports paralegal and staff in all efforts related to review and analysis of historical case evidence. Such support will include development of case and evidence summaries (including charts and other visual aids utilizing a wide range of software applications), and creation of written documents (employing proper formatting, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar). Performs other related duties as assigned. Assisting in obtaining documents and other information related to cases. Responsible for drafting legal documents including, indictments, findings of fact, briefs, pleadings, summaries and legal memoranda. Manages case files. Locating and interviewing witnesses Maintaining Grand Jury Schedule QUALIFICATIONS Have least two years of experience in legal and factual research, writing, court procedures, production of court exhibits, strong interpersonal skills, understanding the importance of communication with assigned attorneys, using a telephone answering machine and the ability to understand and maintain directories, personnel lists and other guides and references to provide a variety of information on the Office and to refer questions to other offices. Be proficient in Microsoft Office software programs (i.e., Corel WordPerfect, MSWord, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook), including the WordPerfect Office Suite. Requires paralegal certificate. An equivalent level of legal training may be substituted with the approval of the COR. At least one year of litigation paralegal experience required; trial experience very helpful. Automated litigation support experience valued. Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to perform basic legal research. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Role also requires basic familiarity with Client tools and knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources. Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOJ MBI clearance.
