Details: Our client, a manufacturer of contacts for a variety of markets, is looking for a Plating Engineer. The processes are rack and barrel, as well as reel-to-reel. The metals are nickel, gold, palladium/nickel and tin. The Plating Engineer, who reports to the Plating Manager, will develop new plating methods and techniques, design new plating equipment and tooling, carefully determine process parameters, develop analytical methods, and recommend cost improvements. The Plating Engineer will act as Project Leader in resolving customer complaints, achieving scrap reductions and decreasing process deviations. The Engineer will also oversee Engineering Sample runs and monitor the Preventative Maintenance program. The Plating Engineer will develop, and document, a modular plating approach for quick tooling fixture changeover to allow the methods to be expanded for multi-plant usage. The Plating Engineer will participate in cross-functional teams using LEAN procedures, in order to decrease costs in all parts of the operation.
