GLACVCD is one of five mosquito and vector control districts in Los Angeles County. The District serves approximately 6.8 million residents in a 1,338 square mile area, making GLACVCD the largest vector control district in Los Angeles County. THE POSITION The Environmental Program Manager will act as liaison between the District and local, state, and federal agencies responsible for wildlife management and protection to ensure representation of vector control issues; represents the District regarding regulatory matters in discussions/meetings with federal, state, regional, local entities and the public; conducts and participates in public meetings and other forums as the District’s representative; establishes and maintains relationships with: city and county public works departments, CA Fish and Wildlife, city and county code enforcement officials, storm water and watershed management officials, state and local water boards, local and regional conservancies, flood control personnel, Army Corp. of Engineers, land management firms and other agencies involved in environmental and urban water projects and development.
