(KPL) is seeking a Multi-Craft Technician who will be responsible for operations and maintenance of pipeline station assets. Duties will include testing and repair of all types of mechanical and electrical equipment used in the operation of crude and refined product pipelines. This equipment includes: pumps, motors, valves, actuators, transmitters, and other various equipment. Qualified candidates must be able to make sound economic decisions, ensure incident prevention, drive predictable execution and achieve competitive results. Responsibilities Responsible for specification, installation, testing & repair of all types of electrical & electronic equipment used in the operation of crude & refined products pipelines. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, motors, actuators, meters, transmitters and switches Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all types of positive displacement pumps, centrifugal pumps, and all types of valves and pressure relief devices Daily tasks include but are not limited to pipeline locates, excavation oversight, facility station checks, regular maintenance of equipment, general troubleshooting and responding to customer needs Work Experience, Skills, and Education Required One year of experience working on industrial equipment such as motors, pumps, valves, actuators, meters and transmitters One year of experience with electrical troubleshooting, including ability to read blueprints and the ability to understand and apply the National Electrical Code Must be highly motivated, require minimum direct supervision and have the ability to prioritize General computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office® including Excel and the ability to use and learn proprietary databases Must possess a valid driver’s license High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus either a two year Technical Degree (Electrical or Mechanical) or three years of related mechanical / electrical experience Work Experience, Skills, and Education Preferred One year of experience as a pipeline field technician Six months of experience working on large centrifugal pumps or can pumps Six months of experience working on all types of valves Two year Mechanical or Electrical Technical Degree Other Considerations Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions equipment Frequently works in hot, cold, or inclement climate conditions Frequently climbs ladders and stairs to reach equipment Position requires the ability to be on-call on a rotational basis and to respond to calls 24/7 for emergency response Position requires travel of up to 25% Position requires the ability to wear a respirator and to pass a respirator fit test Position requires the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Position requires the ability to respond to assigned assets within 30 minutes Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, DOT drug screen, and pre-hire HAZWOPER physical WE ARE KOCH Why work for Koch Companies?
