Details: TITLE: EDUCATION COORDINATOR Department: Employee Services Reports to: Vice President of Employee Services with a collaborative line of reporting to the CNO & COO Supervises: Education Office Assistant Job Summary : The Education Coordinator is responsible for the organization, implementation, and evaluation of hospital-wide staff development and continuing education programs. Oversees the organization’s “preceptor” program and new employee clinical orientation. Essential Functions: Collaborates with leadership to conduct needs assessments to determine educational needs hospital-wide. Develops house-wide education plan yearly based on assessed needs in collaboration with the CNO and COO. Identifies, develops, implements and evaluates educational programming for hospital staff as requested by leadership and as required by regulatory and accreditation agencies. Maintains comprehensive electronic record-keeping system for employee education records. Develops, implements, and monitors department budget. Approves invoices for approved budgetary expenses. Plans, implements and evaluates new employee orientation and annual regulatory and accreditations compliance training. Oversees the organization-wide competency program and assists directors in competency development. Coordinates all BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses held within the organization. AHA Training Center Coordinator for BLS and ACLS program. Works closely with PALS affiliated training center for PALS program. Assures that the Center’s requirements for all affiliation agreements for all post-secondary academic institutions that utilize BAMC as a training site are met, and all agreements are up- to-date and on file. Tracks all students at BAMC, including dates and hours at BAMC and flu vaccine status. Oversees the implementation of the Joint Commission standards related to the education of staff. Coordinates the Preceptor Program. Conducts orientation and on-going educational programs for new preceptors and meets with preceptors and directors on a regular basis. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, discipline, yearly evaluations, and engagement and satisfaction of the Office Assistant. Serves as the site administrator for education system software. Must be able to complete the physical, sensory and mental requirements of the position. Additional Responsibilities: Additional duties as may be assigned by the VP of Employee Services, CNO, or COO.
