RN Intermediate Care Unit - Full Time, 7p-7\:30a - San Martin campus

Details: IMC at San Martin is a 28-bed unit that specializes in a level of care called intermediate care, we are the stepping stone for the individuals between those ready to leave the intensive care unit but not ready to go to the floor and those too sick for the floor but not sick enough to go to intensive care. We see a variety of patients: cardiac patients of all types, chest pain, myocardial infarctions, post cabg, renal patients, post-surgical patients. All of the staff on the intermediate care unit are specially trained to take care of the critical patient. Safe Patient Handling Equipment located on each unit or available to each to unit to assist staff to safely and appropriately mobilize patients including repositioning in bed, ambulating, lateral transferring or transferring to chair/commode. Job Summary: The registered nurse employs critical thinking to integrate objective data with knowledge gained from an assessment of the subjective experiences of patients. Registered nurses use this critical thinking process to apply the best available evidence and research data to the processes of diagnosis and treatment. Nurses continually evaluate quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and seek to optimize outcomes.
