Network Engineer

Details: Network Engineer The Network Engineer establishes and maintains network performance by building net configurations and connections; troubleshooting network problems that will be in charge of designing, implement and maintain datacenter customer's solutions as well as our Organization's Core Network We are looking for an expert in network area to manage complex global network and experienced in corporate culture with strong communication skill to cooperate with customer and colleagues. This role will work on various network hardware/software but biased towards Cisco Routers, Switches and to ensure that network devices are implemented, maintained and highly available as deployed for the business' applications. Work closely with Network Architect to understand and comply with Network architectural standards. Work closely with Solution Architect, and Product Architect or developer to understand the business requirement. Work closely with project management teams to ensure that project deliverables are understood and timescales are met. Produce a detailed documentation set that includes implementation instructions for handover to implementation resources, implementation of configuration on customer-facing devices. Act in the capacity of a senior network engineer working on tasks, incidents, projects throughout the Datacenter networks per approved change window and architectural guidelines. Update/maintain all documentation requested by management and will be tasked with improving such documentation as required. The Engineer will be responsible and accountable for the performance and stability of the datacenter and customers network environments. The Engineer should be willing to work on a flexible schedule including being on-call and participate on planed maintenance windows and unplanned troubleshooting session.

This team is responsible for all servers in DC as well as line of business servers and administration servers for business. They have 10,000 Windows servers distributed over 10+ major data centers. The environment is 90% virtualized using VMware esxi5.5 and they are moving to 6. This is the Windows platform engineering team that works closely with storage, backup, virtualization. This person will be the lead engineer on those projects. They will work with PM in addition to interacting and working closely with the other teams. Day to day breakdown: 70-80% on their time will be spent on projects, for example, some of the recent projects include: windows 2003 out of DC, take a look at the existing apps and figure out how to migrate off with no down time to the business. Look at how multiple tier applications communicate with other services internally and externally. Another recent project was re-platform configuration of 2007R2 to 2012R2. Ex enterprise migrate from DNS to a newer tool called bluecat DNS. If someone knows info block that is sufficient as well.
