Continuously improves and enhances existing application environments ‐ Supports data-driven decisions within and across BSAs by delivering data around SLA adherence, runtime performance, capacity and environment configurations ‐ Analyzes operational data and makes continuous improvement recommendations ‐ Completes root cause analysis (RCA) action items for continuous improvement 3. Delivers application engineering services ‐ Installs complex software upgrades and configures changes, including planning and scheduling, testing and coordination ‐ Supports final test environments, including code moves, file creation, special batch run creation, configuration changes, batch flow monitoring and online support ‐ Proactively and reactively manages application processing events to meet Nationwide's internal and external commitments ‐ Delivers application functionality and services against defined SLAs and Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) ‐ Delivers operational overview documentation and metrics with insights and analysis ‐ Maintains operational (i.e., ―Run‖) knowledge of platforms, technologies and applications ‐ Fulfills non-standard technical support requests ‐ Conducts application production reporting/analysis and technical support services 4. Supports operational efforts to improve and maintain environments ‐ Creates and analyzes operational metrics to support continuous improvement and effective operations management ‐ Monitors end-to-end production business flows, paying special attention to completion of batch flows as well as those with financial impact to ensure data currency ‐ Understands cross-application dependences and ensures are met; resolves abnormal conditions, including abnormal job termination of applications, missing data or data files, application failures and/or noncompliant outcomes as well as capacity and performance issues ‐ Partners with release management to improve and maintain the environment ‐ Updates application configuration information in the Application, Portfolio and Runbook Management (APRM) system, the common configuration management database and other tracking tools/systems 5.
