Construction Materials Engineering and Testing Service Line Director

Kleinfelder is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering and Testing (CoMET) Services Line Director (SLD) to join our team. This position is accountable for the overall global growth of Kleinfelder's CoMET service line ensuring that Kleinfelder is recognized as a premier provider within the markets we serve and industries we operate. The position oversees the vision, growth, quality, and industry leadership of the CoMET service line. The CoMET SLD is responsible for developing a networked community of CoMET practitioners across the firm. This position may sit in any Kleinfelder office with a significant CoMET presence. This is a leadership position that requires technical aptitude, business acumen and leadership skills to advance the service line. The position encompasses the following areas of responsibility: Vision: Set the CoMET vision for the firm. The SLD will crystalize the vision and strategy for ensuring Kleinfelder continues its journey to becoming a premier CoMET provider. Working with the CTO, the successful candidate will align their vision with the overall strategic direction of the firm. Client Development: Working with the current practitioners, CAMs and Segment Managers from across the company the SLD will ensure the CoMET service line is strategically positioned to support our proposal efforts and client pursuits. The SLD will maintain a strong individual drive and passion for client development and demonstrate client leadership by example. In partnership with our Market and Delivery people, the SLD will grow the CoMET service line in terms of revenue and people. Delivery of Quality Work: The SLD will work on predominantly more complex and higher profile projects. The SLD will coordinate a network of technical professionals within the service line that will serve as local champions in peer review, technical mentorship, and help connect the service line practitioners to delivery of the work in their offices and regions. Industry Leadership: To become "premier" requires our CoMET service line practitioners to visibly lead client, industry and technical associations. The SLD will coordinate and leverage the KGTN and other senior technical people to develop a "thought leadership" reputation working on national and regional industry solutions to our client's challenges. Emotionally Connected Service Line: Together with the Senior Fellows, the SLD will lead a connected leadership community focused on the concept of "team" and instill a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and staff mentoring creating compelling reasons for people to want to work within the CoMET service line. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required; Master's preferred. Experience: 20+ years of related experience in consulting engineering firm or related service business and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required; or 16 years related experience with Master's or 11 years related experience with PhD. Environmental Project Manager/LSRP

Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Environmental Project Manager/LSRP for our Hamilton, NJ office Effectively manages all phases of project delivery including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing. Demonstrates skill in: development of scope of work, project budgets, work breakdown structures, and schedules; quality management plans; developing project staffing plans that includes the right resources including quality assurance and peer review team members; effective communication with team members, client and stakeholders; risk analysis and mitigation; and procurement of sub consultants, subcontractors, and other direct project costs. Project sizes are up to $5,000,000 in gross revenue with up to four service lines per project and up to five subcontractors or sub consultants managed per project. Responsibilities: Follows Kleinfelder policies and procedures for project proposing and delivery including using LPS and KMS. Effectively uses Kleinfelder workflows and processes to secure project resources, complete proposals, develop contracts, maintain project records, monitor project, bill clients, collect receivables, and close out. Works effectively with project support staff to monitor and control project to achieve financial target metrics for all projects. Mentors and coaches project team members and provides constructive feedback on team member performance. Executes project to meet or exceed client expectations while meeting industry standard of care. Works with client organization staff and CAM to identify, develop, and propose on future work assignments. May, or may not, be asked to be a Team Leader. A Team Leader will manage direct reports consisting of geologists, scientists and/or engineers which may or may not be directly working on the Project Manager's projects. If managing a team, will assist team members in resource sharing efforts, provide LPS stewardship, facilitate collaboration with markets and KGTN, and provide quarterly and annual performance reviews seeking input from others, as necessary. Proficient knowledge of New Jersey regulations (e.g. SRRA, ARRCS, ISRA, TRSR, UST) and associated technical guidance documents Lead New Jersey projects under NJ regulations and applicable guidance documents to reach and issue RAOs. Able to develop/write technical memos, regulatory reports, workplans, proposals, and prepare cost estimates Conduct cleanup alternative analysis, site remediation design and implementation, Technical Impracticability application, and provide overall project construction/remediation oversight. Leadership skills in management/conducting remediation projects in various environmental investigation phases (i.e., PA/SI, Phase I/II, RI, RA) including project planning and permitting. Licenses: NJDEP Licensed Site Remediation Professional in good standing (Permanent LSRP license Required), NJ Licensed Professional Engineer (Preferred - additional State-licensures a plus). 40-hr. HAZWOPER training with annual 8 hour refresher training (Required). Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering, Science, Geology or related technical field required. Experience: 10+ years of remedial design and implementation, 6-8 years project management experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required. 4+ years supervisory/management experience required. Experience in in-situ remediation technology (including injection, stabilization, etc) and manufactured gas plant/DNAPL remediation experience preferred.
