Clinical Therapist

Details: Clinical Therapist DESCRIPTION: Licensed therapist will provide psychotherapy to an ethnically and culturally diverse student population in support of the Academic and Student Life mission of the University of Redlands. Under the direction of the Director of the Counseling Center, therapist will work as part of a dynamic clinical team in the student Counseling Center. Position offers 10 scheduled hours per week providing psychotherapy for 32 weeks between September and May of each year. Therapist will also provide telephone after hours on-call crisis intervention for six of the nine months. The therapist may also provide a broad range of mental health services to the campus community, such as: consultation, crisis management, and student outreach services. Therapist may also provide supervision to pre-doctoral psychology practicum students and LPCC practicum students. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Conducts individual and group counseling sessions, maintains student case files and treatment documentation. Coordinates referrals to campus and private sector resources as appropriate. Responds to after-hours student mental health crises for six months of the academic year. Coordinates immediate or next day follow up care with campus or community entities. Provides prevention, mental health promotion, and education services that enable students to take full advantage of their academic experience. Clinical supervision of therapists in training at practicum and pre-internship level. Contributes to continued Counseling Center program development. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned or directed.

Assists in the development of regional marketing initiatives to impact local pipeline of prospective students. Impacts student success through regular student and classroom visits, and coordination with academic leads and faculty liaisons. Hosts a variety of campus events including regular Open Houses, Orientations, Lunch ‘n Learns, guest speakers, etc. Proactively mentors staff and regularly evaluates staff performance, managing corrective actions as required. Prepares and provides a variety of quantitative reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Interfaces as needed with faculty, adjuncts, Registrar’s office, Student Financial Services, Student Accounts, and other University departments to help ensure a positive experience for prospects, applicants and students.
