Production Manager

Details: Job Purpose The Production Manager is accountable for directing and managing all production operations with overall responsibilities for safety, production, quality and other related activities, in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. General Follow and enforce all Company safety policies and safety procedures in order to maintain a safe work environment. Follow and enforce all Company policies, rules and regulations. Act as a professional representative of Wausau Coated Products, Inc. at all times. Production Develop, establish and implement long-term and short-term strategies, and operating policies to achieve established departmental goals and objectives. Coordinate resources, optimizing facilities and equipment. Plan and coordinate production requirements. Leverage technical resources to maintain quality. Foster the development of employees in a positive, productive environment. Analyze customer requests / issues and make decisions for their best resolution. Review production processes and make recommendations to improve quality, reduce cost or increase efficiency. Encourage team involvement in improvement initiatives. Establish appropriate metrics to measure process effectiveness and plant results. Report the current status of production goals, compliance to schedules and budget considerations to the Vice President Operations. Represent manufacturing / operations in cross-functional project teams. Apply statistical methods and perform analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and increased efficiency. Apply Lean principles in own work performance and drive Lean application in Company operations. Ensure written standard operating procedures and work instructions for key processes are in place and utilized. Troubleshoot and guide employees on mechanical, material and technical issues. Create and maintain manufacturing specifications. Control labor, material and supply expenses within budgetary constraints. Ensure the maintenance of departmental Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Set and communicate clear performance expectations for supervisors, production employees and safety employees. Manage employee performance issues in compliance with Company policies and procedures, and ensure a fair, team-oriented workplace. Develop and implement department training process for new and existing employees. Assist in the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the Company’s standards for safety, quality and productivity. Provide coaching, guidance and development opportunities for shift supervisors and other direct reports. Administrative Maintain production floor organization and plant cleanliness among all production employees. Maintain Kronos Timekeeping system. Administer vacation scheduling process. Complete the annual performance evaluation of direct reports. Recommend salary adjustments, promotions, transfers and termination of employees. Control and minimize labor overtime.

We are currently searching for a talented Software Engineer – C/C++, to join our team in Houston. This position must sit in our Houston, TX office. Relocation assistance is available. JOB PROFILE: You will be part of the team responsible for ensuring the efficiency, ease of use, reliability and scalability of the core software infrastructure for high-performance computing applications. You will architect, design and implement new features and improvements to technologies and platforms that support a vast, complex software infrastructure used for processing seismic data. The role will require you to work with highly-qualified researchers and software engineers to design and develop a scalable, efficient and fault-tolerant system used by a global team of geophysicists to image the subsurface. You are expected to have a thorough understanding of technical concepts required for software engineering and deployment and should be able to navigate and quickly understand complex code and systems. The position demands excellent analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to do high-level scoping with detailed design. Participate in design discussions, development and deployment in large scale state-of-the-art computing facilities across the world with a geographically dispersed developer team and user base. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively is a must. You should be a person with great technical passion, terrific problem-solving skills, drive for results and ability to work independently as well as in teams.
