Head Farm Mechanic

Details: We are a family owned and operated dairy farm operation in northern Wisconsin. We own and operate all of our own equipment for the complete function of our farm which includes, tillage, planting, spraying, harvest, manure application, construction and animal care. We are seeking a mechanic to head our maintenance department and perform the required maintenance and repair of our equipment which includes tractors, skid steers, mixers, combines, mower/conditioners, choppers and tillage and planting equipment. You would be asked to maintain our equipment, perform necessary repairs and keep accurate records of work completed. You would be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is maintained and ready for use when it is needed. You would be required to be on call during all cropping times which includes four crops of alfalfa and fall corn silage. Since we operate 24 hours a day, you would be asked to be available at all times by phone for information or consulting in emergency situations.

The Parts Coordinator will work within the Maintenance Department and the duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Work closely with the maintenance team of technicians to understand and maintain the machine parts needs for the entire plant. Identify and procure specialized machine parts, electronics, filters, chemicals and various other direct product / trade goods / MRO commodities. Maintain on-time flow of repair parts and supplies to maximize plant uptime requirements. Respond to requests for emergency purchases.
