Materials Control Clerk III

Responsibilities: This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Receives, counts and processes incoming materials and supplies. Receives, unpacks and issues materials and supplies in the stockroom. Sorts, counts and checks raw materials, finished and semi-finished parts. Maintains daily lot number receiving log. Places materials and supplies on shelves, racks or other specified floor locations. Delivers to office locations as appropriate. Ensures that transactions are input properly into the ERP computer system. Matches and forwards all appropriate documentation to necessary departments. Process of RMA’s and RTV’s as directed. Issues materials to customer orders, packs and ships domestic and international customer orders. Contacts shipping companies for scheduling pick up and delivery of customer orders. Ensures that all shipping documents for domestic and foreign shipments are complete and comply with company SOP'S. Aids in maintaining records on product shipping activities. Coordinates documentation to physical product to ensure timely, damage-free, and accurate shipments. Helps to determine product packaging and shipping requirements. Works with pre-released shop orders and releases shop orders through the computer. Fills orders from requisitions and maintains the necessary clerical records. Assists with scheduling purchases of factory supplies. Assists in general maintenance and cleanup of warehouse. Assists with daily cycle counts. Trains existing warehouse employees when needed. Participates as a member of the emergency on call shipping rotation. Performs additional duties and assignments as directed by the Warehouse Manager or Supervisor.

These strategies must address the variability in seasonal supply/demand volumes and geography, as well as service requirements, stockpile operations and inventory movement, while minimizing overall costs to Morton and Canadian Salt. 4. Work with Supply Planner and the Marine Transportation team to manage bulk inventories based on marketing requirements, production plans, and marine transportation plans, with the goal to minimize overall costs to Morton and Canadian Salt. 5. Work with Supply Planner to prepare annual/season supply network plan for Morton warehouses and customer direct barge delivery, based on requirements from marketing. Update periodically, incorporating changes in market demands. 6. Insure efficient coordination of the loading, transport, unloading and disposition of finished product, in conformance to budget, mine utilization, vessel capacities, operation and storage capacities, and handling. 7. Oversee negotiation of stockpile property rental, operator handling, and truck transportation arrangements to maximize flexibility for supply and service requirements and minimize costs to Morton Salt. 8. Responsible for preparation, planning and execution of capital projects 9. Develop and implement programs to ensure compliance with environmental, state and federal regulations for safe bulk product storage, handling and transportation. 10. Oversee the development and implementation of safety, service, quality and cost performance measurements for stockpile operations. 11. Develop overall controls and security procedures to protect company assets in storage. 12. Prepare and maintain a detailed stockpile operations and Transportation budget for review by the Sr. Director, Logistics Bulk Salt for North America. Monitor actual costs vs budget, explain variances and prepare periodic updates and forecasts as required 13. Supervise Stockpile Managers and Distribution Analysts, to include setting performance expectations and providing coaching and training for their continued professional growth and development. 14. Keep informed of technological and industry developments related to bulk storage, handling and transportation. Integrate new concepts and technologies into stockpiling and transportation operations. 15. Responsible to insure adequate stockpile and carrier capacity in place throughout the network to provide delivery to customers within the contractual or required delivery guidelines. Achieve minimum 80% overall on time and in full rate (OTIF) 1. Responsible for expenditures of $200 million annually for goods and services related to stockpile operations. 2. Responsible for barge and bulk transportation costs exceeding $100 million. 3. Responsible for 10 direct reports.
