Details: Primary Responsibilities: Work with plans and specs, perform quantity takeoffs and estimate all general construction job costs, including labor, material, equipment, and specialty items necessary to complete the project. Develop scope, solicit, analyze, and compare subcontractor and supplier proposals. Insure adequate sub/supplier coverage and participate in bid day closeout. Provide updated information necessary to maintain subcontractor databases. Provide input as requested for pre-bid project schedules and technical proposals. Details: IMMEDIATE OPENINGS IN LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA TTX Company is currently seeking candidates with a high level of mechanical aptitude to inspect and repair rail cars at our Long Beach, California operation. Previous experience in welding, oxyacetylene cutting, and rail car repair preferred, but not required. Candidates filling this role will be expected to repair, modify, and upgrade rail cars utilizing a variety of hand tools, welding equipment, and oxyacetylene cutting. Candidates will also be expected to operate forklifts, hydraulic jacks, and perform computer entry. Candidates must be able to pass a seven year criminal background check, physical exam, and drug test. Employees of TTX Company receive the following wages and benefits: Base Pay $21.90 based on at least 5 years of experience in rail car repair. Increases to $22.44 on July 1, 2015.
