This individual acts as the coordinator of care for patients during office visits and assists with questions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Facilitates communication between the patient and the provider. Responsible for rooming patients, obtaining vitals, reviews intake paperwork for completion and prepares the patient for the visit. Provides basic education for the patient during their clinic visit. Maintains exam room appearance. Rooms should be restocked at the end of each clinic day. Rooms and tables should be cleaned as needed during clinic and at the end of each day. Monitor biohazard and sharps containers and replace as needed. Assist the provider with preparing injections, removing dressings, preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms (i.e. work release, FMLA etc). Responds to patient telephone calls within a timely manner, presents information to the provider and follows up with the patient. Voicemail should be checked regularly and be cleared by the end of the business day. Prepares patient charts for clinic visits to include updating patient demographic Information and verifying information with the patient. Processes all requests for patient prescriptions in a timely manner. Chart all prescriptions in the patient chart to include drug, dose, number dispensed and refills. Forwards all incoming documents and patient records for physician signature prior to scanning into the patient chart. Prepares charts for clinic visits and prints clinic schedules.
