Details: Provides professional care to all persons needing their services by producing high quality diagnostic radiographs under the direction of a Radiologist. Evaluates radiographs for technical quality and applies principals of radiation protection and safety. Provides services to patients of all ages at a high competency level. 1. Demonstrates competence of DIGITAL X-RAY equipment. 2. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the DIGITAL X-RAY system operation. 3. Performs daily equipment start-up and performance checks. 4. Reports any variance from normal function to appropriate party. 5. Introduces self and calls patient by name and checks DOB making patient comfortable with surroundings. 6. Assess patient’s emotional status including expressed fears/phobia. 7. Incorporates cultural and ethnic factors into assessment and care. 8. Review X-RAY orders to verify pertinent information for performing the procedure, including diagnosis that corresponds to symptoms and procedure ordered. 9. Reviews each patient’s chart for any special notes or comments concerning the procedure ordered. 10. Assures correct patient information is entered into CSFCH HIS/RIS prior to exam 11. Details: Job Summary : The Patient Service Representative role is to provide extraordinary care to patients through friendly, caring, courteous, and professional services. The PSR ensures that patients feel welcome and comfortable while maintaining professionalism as they coordinate services such as scheduling of appointments, registration, cashiering functions, and data entry of appropriate patient information. Job Duties: Acknowledges and greets all patients entering the building Checks-in patient encounters as follows, but not limited to: Verifies patients’ demographic information, insurance, and pharmacy location Verifies and ensures patients’ driver’s license is scanned and imported into patient chart If required, collects patients’ co-payment Collects account balances for all patient encounters Notifies Accounts Receivable Coordinator of uncollectable accounts Verifies and ensures HIPAA release and consent verification form is completed and on file for every patient Provides each patient with a visit summary upon completion of visit Web enables all new patients and instructs patient on how to access the patient portal and to complete paperwork prior to appointment Verify that new patients have completed necessary paperwork by checking all new patient appointments 1-2 days in advance. Responds back to patients who have left voice messages throughout the work day in a timely manner. Schedules all patient appointments, excluding sick visits, which are forwarded to nurses Schedules ancillary tests for Echos/Vasculars, Ultrasounds, and EMGs and ensure that all forms of communication with the patient are documented in the test order If needed, follow up to schedule patient in a timely manner and assign to nurse if no contact with patient after 2 attempts Reschedules patient appointments as required. Provides a “visitor pass" to ALL visitors and ensures all visitors sign in accurately and sign out upon departure Responsible throughout the day to clean up and organize reception area including, but not limited to Organizing magazines Straightening chairs Water plants (as needed) Straightening blinds Clean countertops (as needed) On an as needed basis, mails HMO patient referral orders to patients home address as indicated in EMR system Performs other duties as assigned
