Man kills himself with gun on Oneida County Roadway

TOWN OF NEWBOLD - A man killed himself on an Oneida County road early Tuesday morning. The Oneida County Sheriff's Office tells Newswatch 12, deputies got a call from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office late Monday night. Family members from southeastern Wisconsin had called them expressing concern for the well being of a family member in Oneida County. Full Story: WJFW

Sporting Heritage Council Members Wanted

TOMAHAWK - The state needs twelve members for it's new Sporting Heritage Council. The goal is to have your voice give state officials tips on handling issues we face with hunting and fishing. The five catergories the Council will represent are Anglers, Furbearers, as well as deer, bird and bear hunters. Nick Schertz is a member of Lincoln County's Conservation Congress. Cable Hosts Nordic World Cup for Second Straight Year

CABLE - The International Paralympics Nordic Skiing World Cup wrapped up competition this afternoon in Cable, Wisconsin. They hosted eight countries for the competition. Team USA bagged four medals---to put its all-time medal count at sixteen. But this event wasn't just about competing for medals--it was about coming together and not letting physical disability hold you back. Full Story: WJFW

Governor Walker visits World Championship Snowmobile Derby

EAGLE RIVER - Over 30 thousand people will attend the 50th Anniversary World Championship Snowmobile Derby in Eagle River this weekend. One of them was Governor Scott Walker, who stopped by tonight to deliver opening remarks. He talked about the grand tradition of the derby and how important the snowmobiling industry is to Wisconsin. Ice Drags Coming to Rhinelander

If you're a fan of all things fast, there will be another race for you to go to this winter. There are ice drag races in Merrill every year, but this winter the Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce will host one too. It's the first in what Chamber Director Lara Reed hopes will be an annual event in Rhinelander. Everyone has snowmobiling on the brain right now, but these races are for slightly more traditional gear-heads. Full Story: WJFW

Rush on Straw at Feed Store

Yesterday we told you that placing straw over your septic tank can keep it from freezing. Many of you must've listened. Today, a Rhinelander store sold through the bails of straw quickly. Farmers Feed Store has struggled to keep up with the demand for straw today. Homeowner's crowded in the store, hoping to buy straw for their septics. The owner ordered 5 loads of straw, including one for after hours. By day's end she sold about 500 bails of straw. Full Story: WJFW

Students Create PSA Which Brings Awareness to Mental Illness

Students at Rhinelander High School created a P-S-A videos for their psychology class. The four guys we spoke to wants the community to know about mental illness. It's nothing to be made fun of and you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. These young men specifically wanted to do a video about labels because they don't want people to feel embarrassed about their condition. Full Story: WJFW
