RHINELANDER - We know math is important in our daily lives. But getting kids excited about it isn't always easy. Today at Northwoods Community Elementary School in Rhinelander showed students that math can be entertaining and educational.Math Project Day had students solving problems, using fractions and even learning about finances. Telemarketers Top Complaint From Consumers

MADISON - Telemarketing once again tops the list of complaints from Wisconsin consumers. The state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection said Tuesday that telemarketing complaints account for nearly 2,000 of the roughly 10,000 formal complaints filed last year. It is the 10th year in a row that telemarketers and robo calls have topped the list. Full Story: WJFW

Proposal to Protect Road Funds From Being Used for Other Purposes

MADISON - Money raised to repair roads would be protected from being snatched away for other needs, under a proposal before the Wisconsin Assembly. A constitutional amendment is designed to prevent lawmakers from raiding money from the state transportation fund. The measure passed both the Senate and Assembly last session. Full Story: WJFW

Tanzania Mission Trip

RHINELANDER - A Rhinelander Pastor wants his congragation to be inspired to reach out. That's why today he shared stories from his latest mission trip. The Moogala Lutheren Church in Darsalam Tanzania is Immanuel Lutheran Church's African companion. Pastor Norman Peterson helped to put a dental clinic in Darsalam. Gov. Walker to Introduce Budget Legislation in Rhinelander Monday

MADISON - Governor Scott Walker says he wants to invest nearly $100 million to develop the state's work force, and give workers skills to find jobs. Walker's plan would include money to build a faster system to track jobs data and it would tie funding for technical schools and universities to filling high-demand jobs. Full Story: WJFW

Treehaven Tromp brings in snowshoe racers

TOMAHAWK - Runners take off in Tomahawk, with a little something extra- snowshoes. “Racing snowshoes are a little smaller than the ones you and I would typically wear. Like I say they’ll just have their normal running gear on with just a little bit wider shoes on,” said volunteer Fred Bloedorn. EAGLE RIVER - When you step into a Northland Pines school, you'll see laptops, iPads, and Chromebooks. "I would say within five years, we may not even see a textbook in the the classroom anymore," Superintendent Mike Richie said. Great Trail Conditions Help Northwoods Business

RHINELANDER - Plenty of snow means more fun for almost everyone. In a cold-weather tourist economy--it's practically "White Gold". Birchwood Bar welcomes a strong snowmobile crowd. Mickey Buell is part owner. She's seen sales almost double in just two weeks. "It's a great thing the snow is finally here. Passenger killed in one-car crash near Pembine identified

NIAGARA - We now know the name of the passenger killed in a one-car crash near Niagara Tuesday morning. A Jeep driving south on Highway O in Marinette County crashed into the Pemenee Creek Bridge support around 9:30 a.m. 29-year-old Heather Vandenwildenberg died in the crash. She was riding in the front seat and not wearing a seatbelt. Full Story: WJFW

Tomahawk Family Restaurant Gives Profits to Police and Fire Departments

TOMAHAWK - A Northwoods restaurant gave all of today's profits to emergency responders. Tomahawk's bravest served customers at Tomahawk Family Restaurant. The restaurant was busy with customers through the lunch hour. People came in to eat and meet the fire and police crews. Restaurant owner Benny Shabani is donating all of today's profits to the fire and police departments. Full Story: WJFW
