TOWN OF BOVINA - Outagamie County authorities say a man working behind his truck has died after the vehicle slid backward on an icy driveway, pinning him against a barn. The sheriff's department says the victim was a 63-year-old from the Clintonville area. Full story: WJFW

MARATHON COUNTY - The Marathon County Sheriff's Department and Marathon County Highway Department want people to avoid driving this weekend. The wind is making it difficult for plow drivers to keep the highways cleared. Full story: WJFW

RHINELANDER - Some winter supplies can be difficult to get this year. Large snow pileups on roofs have many homeowners searching for roof rakes. But local hardware stores are having trouble keeping them in stock. Full story: WJFW

BAYFIELD - National Park rangers have been unable to check Lake Superior's ice to determine if it's safe for people to hike to the popular ice caves near the Apostle Islands. Full story: WJFW

ONEIDA COUNTY - It could be one of the worst snowstorms of the season. The forecast prompted Governor Walker to declare a state of emergency across Wisconsin for the severe winter storm. The Oneida County Highway Department is preparing for heavy snow and freezing temperatures. Full story: WJFW

MERRILL - A $10,000 grant will help fund the River Bend Trail in Merrill. The grant was given to the River District Development Foundation. It was given by the Lumberjack Council of Northern Wisconsin. The first phase of the trail will be two and a half miles long. It will connect Council Grounds State Park to the center of Merrill, following the Wisconsin River. Full story: WJFW
