WAUSAU - People know of many different ways that drugs can kill you. But drug experts say drugs can actually cause you to commit suicide, as well. Marathon County had 18 suicides in 2013. Full story: WJFW

RHINELANDER - Fish could die if oxygen levels in lakes get too low. Heavy ice and snow on the lakes can lead to low oxygen levels, but many lakes here are doing fine for now with the help of aerators. Aerators use underwater air lines to pump air and create bubbles. BOULDER JUNCTION - Record high propane prices caused plenty of problems for people in the Northwoods. But there are alternatives. The Northern Highland American Legion State Forest decided in 2012 it would be best to use wood as its heating source. Full story: WJFW

MADISON - Wisconsin outdoor lovers will get a chance to sound off next month on whether the state should impose mandatory classes for wolf trappers. The Conservation Congress has included an item on its annual spring hearings questionnaire asking if people would support such classes. Full story: WJFW

MADISON - A report says the number of paroles granted by the Wisconsin Parole Commission has plummeted under Gov. Scott Walker. The Wisconsin State Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1jKxg7u ) the commission has severely curtailed parole for more than 2,800 inmates who committed crimes before the state's ``truth-in-sentencing'' law took effect in 2000. MARATHON COUNTY - Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in a snowmobile crash. It happened around 12:20 a.m. Sunday in Marathon County. A snowmobiler missed a curve on a trail on the 14,00 block of County Highway FF in the Town of Berlin. Full story: WJFW

MADISON - Assembly Republicans say they plan to take a vote to strip embattled Majority Leader Bill Kramer from his leadership position. Kramer's office said Saturday that he has checked into a treatment center as he faces pressure to resign amid charges that he sexually harassed multiple women at a Republican fundraiser. IRONWOOD, MI - People living near an Ironwood, Michigan home had to evacuate for a few hours because of a fire threat. A SWAT team responded to a home Saturday morning. A suicidal man tried to set his home on fire after dousing it with gasoline. Full story: WJFW

CRANDON - The Forest County Humane Society makes sure all animals brought in to them get the care they need. They have 36 pets on average. Caring for them can cost a lot of money. Full story: WJFW

RHINELANDER - Gov. Walker focused on a property/income tax cut and job training proposal while talking a small group of factory workers at Northstar Steel Fabricators in Rhinelander Friday. RHINELANDER - Snowy roads can cause plenty of driving problems, but tall piles of snow can be just as dangerous. Snow piled up at corners of intersections greatly cuts into what drivers can see as they turn the corners. The best thing to do is to slowly ease forward to improve your line of sight.
