Dem candidate for governor to hand out Klan hoods

MADISON - Democratic candidate for governor Brett Hulsey plans to hand out white Ku Klux Klan hoods to Wisconsin Republicans to highlight what he says are their racist policies. Hulsey on Thursday came into the state Capitol press room to show off a white hood he says he made with his daughter's sewing machine using curtain material he purchased for $1. Full story: WJFW

Vilas County Sheriff to run for full term

VILAS COUNTY - Vilas County Sheriff Joe Fath wants four more years in office. The Sheriff has officially filed for candidacy in November's general election. Governor Scott Walker appointed Fath to the position last September. That was after Sheriff Frank Tomlanovich died. What We're Working On

Leaders at the Florence School District will receive more than $91,000 check from the National Forest Income (NFI) program Thursday to help with their district budget. The money comes from a change in the 2013-2015 Wisconsin biennium budget. The change shifted all national forest income, from timber harvests, from the federal government to school districts in national forest lands in relation to their acreage in the district. Housing market rebounding, million-dollar Northwoods homes still hard to sell

MINOCQUA - Home sales may seem to be rebounding from the 2008 recession. Some properties in the Northwoods are selling fast. "We're anticipating a great May because of the pent up demand. Buyers have not had a chance to get up here because of the weather conditions and so this is a great time for buyers to come up and buy," said Mike Mulleady, Coldwell Banker Mulleady Realtors General Manager.
