FOND DU LAC - Many farmers in Fond du Lac and Dodge counties were hoping to get an early start on this year's planting season, but their plans have been derailed by a repeat of last year's soggy weather conditions.
A Reporter Media report (http://fondul.ac/1jYQW9K ) says by this time of year, farmers have generally planted about 40 percent of the state's corn crop. This year, only about 20 percent has been planted.

TOWN OF CORNING - Lincoln County deputies want your help solving a break-in.
It happened in the Town of Corning. A seasonal cabin was broken into on Tower Road near Camp 26 Road. A lock was broken off a tool shed where a cooler was stolen. A window to the home was also taken off and a generator inside the home was stolen.

RHINELANDER - Hospice provides comfort to those ending their life's journey. Ministry Home Care Hospice patients get some of that comfort from quilts that are hand-stitched with love by a group of dedicated women.

ANN ARBOR, MI - An effort to prevent people from drowning due to dangerous currents along the Great Lakes includes installing kits with life-saving aids including a ring buoy at 10 public beaches along Lake Michigan.

PRENTICE - A Northwoods man will join an elite group of veterans. His courage helped him earn multiple awards including a Bronze Star.
Ronald Sandquist served in the military during the Vietnam war. Monday he was honored during a ceremony at Prentice High School. Republican Congressman Sean Duffy presented Sandquist with the Bronze Star.

MADISON - Nearly 63,000 Wisconsin residents who were on the state's BadgerCare Medicaid program lost their coverage at the end of March under tighter income eligibility standards.
Governor Scott Walker's administration had previously estimated the number who would be kicked off the program to be around 75,000.

MADISON - he 20 highest-paid state employees last year worked for the Wisconsin Investment Board, which manages the investments of the Wisconsin Retirement System.
A Wisconsin State Journal report shows all 20 made more than $300,000. Chief investment officer David C. Villa took home a state-high $834,000.

STONEFIELD - A southwestern Wisconsin historical site is planning a steampunk-inspired wild west festival this weekend.

MERRILL - It took a while for Merill Firefighters and EMS to get their new building. But they finally moved in. Sunday, they debuted their new facility to the community.
The Merrill Fire Department hosted an open house and they did it in perfect timing. Sunday was the beginning of EMS week. They thought it would be a great opportunity to celebrate EMS practitioners and show off their new facility.

MINOCQUA - After more than 30 years a part, Robin and Rick Hanson will finally spend their lives together.
"We dated when I was 18, he was 19. We dated for about a year and a half. I broke his heart," said Robin Hanson. "We went off on our separate ways. I went off to school, got married, had children.

MADISON - A federal trial to determine whether a Wisconsin law that requires abortion providers to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals is constitutional is set to get underway later this month.
Planned Parenthood and Affiliated Medical Services filed a lawsuit in July arguing the law would force clinics in Appleton and Milwaukee to close because abortion providers at the facilities lack admitting privileges.

A man called 911 Sunday about 1:20 a.m. to say his girlfriend had armed herself with a gun. The man fled the apartment.

PINE LAKE - A Rhinelander man sits in Oneida County jail Saturday night. The Oneida County Sheriff's Office arrested him after his canoe tipped over Saturday evening.
They say he had been drinking. The man was on bond and wasn't supposed to consume alcohol.

RHINELANDER - Many people who live in Rhinelander know about Ryan Adam. He was a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan in 2009. Saturday, community members came together to honor him in a special way.
