DOOR COUNTY - Some Door County apple growers will not be able to bring in a crop this year.
Two months ago hail destroyed some of the crops.
Apples are rotting on the branches at Fellner Orchards just north of Sturgeon Bay.
ONEIDA COUNTY - The DNR will use a different approach to collect hunting data over the next three years. The department created a council for each county to review and consider measuring and handling the deer herd. Tuesday, Oneida County took their first step with the new council.
County Deer Advisory Councils are a new wrinkle to deer management in Wisconsin. Members are eager to see what the future will hold even though this was their first meeting Tuesday.
PRICE AND ASHLAND COUNTIES - Park Falls, Butternut and Fifield could all add industrial space to parts of their area. Park Falls Area Community Development Corporation Administrator Frank Kempf says he noticed the area needed more industrial space when he took over his position in 2006.

BARRON - Authorities say a 47-year-old western Wisconsin man was arrested after officials discovered 25 dead cows on his farm.
The Barron County sheriff's office says the man was taken into custody Saturday on suspicion of mistreating animals and failing to provide food and drink to animals.
MADISON - Most Wisconsin public schools meet or exceed expectations for student achievement.
A state report card for about 2,100 public schools show 88 percent met or exceeded expectations.
For the state's 424 school districts, only about two percent failed to meet expectations.
MADISON - Doctors suspect there are at least nine Wisconsin cases of the respiratory and stomach virus that has hospitalized hundreds of children around the country.
Samples of the nine suspected cases in the Madison area were sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

WAUKESHA - A judge has halted court proceedings for one of two 12-year-old girls accused of trying to kill a classmate to please a fictional character called Slender Man.
The girl's attorney, Maura McMahon, told Waukesha County Circuit Judge Michael Bohren on Monday that she has questions about the girl's ability to assist in her own defense. Bohren ordered a competency examination to be completed within 30 days.

April Jones reached a plea deal with prosecutors. She pled guilty to a misdemeanor for battery. The judge sentenced her to one year in jail. She will get credit for the more than five months she's already served.
TOMAHAWK - A 45 year old Tomahawk man sits in Lincoln County jail facing drug charges after police found marijuana growing on county land.
Last week, deputies were investigating a complaint of possible illegal camping on county land off of County Rd CC in the Town of Wilson. That's where they found a camp site with marijuana being grown.
ONEIDA COUNTY - You'll need a photo ID to vote in the November general election.
The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago reinstated Wisconsin's photo ID law on Friday.
Election workers should be able to handle the change at the polls in November.

The library's board hired Virginia Woods Roberts to lead the library.
