Details: My client, Keystone Folding Box Co., Newark, NJ, is looking to hire a Feeder/Packer who will work in an open manufacturing environment in the Finishing Department with production processing equipment. Offering more than a century of expertise in packaging design and manufacturing, Keystone is the authority in paperboard packaging solutions for a wide range of industries and applications. This position will: communicate with team members and follow Keystone Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to assure integrity of quality assurance process for all orders; meet specifications for each customer, within safety and quality standards and scheduled deadlines; oversee feeding and packing of product in compliance with customer and shipping specifications; and rotate position on equipment to perform feeding and packing boxes of product in compliance with customer and shipping specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Assists in clearing the line between different items and jobs. Verifies job status on load ticket and acknowledges quality processing information from previous departments is taken into account in current processing steps. May assist Machine Adjuster with periodic equipment maintenance. Inspects condition of boxes prior to entering feeder, (e.g., color, uniformity, no blanks, or other defects). Pull samples as necessary. Provides packers with finished product. Periodically inspects cartons during jobs in progress to ensure continuity of packaging quality. Ensures product is packed uniformly for stability and that quantities conform to shipping label. Tests for glue adhesion, defective glue patterns, and examines for breaks in scores. Hand counts product periodically to ensure continuity of product count. Informs Machine Adjuster or Foreman of any discrepancies.
