Weekend RN Supervisor

Details: The Weekend RN Supervisor is to maintain the quality of care and to ensure regulatory compliance in the absences of the DON or ADON. 6am - 6pm Baylor position, Saturday and Sunday Essential Job Functions: Resident Rights Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent Resident information Ensures that all nursing care is provided in privacy and that all personnel knock before entering a resident’s room Promotes Resident advocacy (Resident right to choose) Has access to complete Resident medical records Understands and respects resident’s ability to refuse nursing care and other areas of treatment Reviews complaints and grievances made by the resident and make a written/oral report to the Executive Director indicating what actions were taken to resolve the complaint or grievance Ensures all personnel know the residents’ responsibility and rights including the fifth to refuse treatment Discuss the residents’ choices in regards to Advanced Directives with the resident and/or their representative upon request or as indicated Department Specific Answer all lights and meet the resident’s need according to state and federal guidelines Ability to direct, evaluate and supervise all resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary Ability to make daily resident rounds with formal report to the DON and Executive Director Ability to assess resident equipment and supply needs, and make recommendations to the DON Ability to complete reports and assignments accurately and adhere to established time schedules Ability to establish open lines of communication between all nursing personnel and consistently take follow-up action as necessary Ability to observe infection control procedures relating to nursing services Ability to consistently work cooperatively with administration, all nursing service, personnel, physicians, community agencies, residents, families and consultants Ability to come to work in a clean, neat uniform and consistently present a is served and residents are assisted as necessary Ability to assess resident needs and initiate development of individualized plans of resident care Ability to provide direct resident care and vie instruction to nursing assistant related to resident care Ability to supervise response to resident’s cal for assistance Ability to listen to resident, family or physician concerns and initiate corrective action and/or report concerns to Nursing Supervisor Ability to count narcotics, check emergency kit and exchange keys Ability to prepare nursing assistants’ assignment and explain all pertinent resident care Ability to supervise distribution of nourishments Ability to observe, evaluate and document all changes in residents’ conditions Ability to notify physician, when necessary, of changes in residents’ conditions, weight, mediation errors, medication not available, abnormal laboratory/X-ray results and any other unusual observations Ability to document daily notes on unstable residents, Medicare residents and recently admitted residents Communication Ability to communicate professionally even when subject to hostile and emotionally upset resident, family member, personnel and/or visitor Promotes positive/open communication between team members, residents, visitors and other departments Promptly and accurately informs appropriate supervisor of department, facility and individual changes in condition Maintains a professional image at all times Utilizes problem solving skills to obtain appropriate resolutions Develops and maintains open/trusting professional Assist with efficient management of inventory and effective presentation of merchandise. Ensure a safe working environment while providing for the protection of company assets. DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Open the store a minimum of two days per week; close the store a minimum of two days per week. Authorize and sign for refunds and overrides; count register; deposit money in bank. Assist in ensuring the financial integrity of the store through strict cashier accountability, key control, and adherence to company security practices and cash control procedures. Manage store in Store Manager's absence. Assist Store Manager, as directed, with scheduling employees; enter payroll information into computer. Assist Store Manager, as directed, in providing adequate training for employees. Review operating statements to identify business trends (including sales, profitability, and turn), expense control opportunities, potential shrink, and errors. Order drop-shipments and other areas of store as designated by store manager. Follow prescribed ordering practices to ensure the meeting or exceeding of in-stock targets; review ordering plan, seasonal direction and inventory management issues on a weekly basis. Assist with the efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise; unload trucks. Ensure that merchandise is presented according to established practices and Store Manager direction; utilize merchandise fixtures properly including presentation, product pricing and signage. Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance. Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls. Conduct safety meetings; help to maintain a clean, well-organized store and facilitate a safe and secure working and shopping environment. Provide superior customer service leadership. Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual, Employee Handbook, and company communications. Assist Store Manager in ensuring employee compliance. Complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines. KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages. Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control. Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions to generate reports. Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices (deposits, store keys, SAFE program, etc.). Good organization skills with attention to detail. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited standardization exists.WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred. One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Ensure compliance with residents rights policies and work with families and other staff, as needed, to resolve grievances. Actively participate in the quality improvement process for the facility. Schedule, conduct and document regular meetings with direct reports staff to ensure effective communication. Attend and participate in department/facility meetings, as required. Participate in evaluations of Nurse Techs and Clinical Nurses I and II. Act in compliance with Consulate, regulatory, and professional standards and guidelines. Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to discipline and responsibilities in order to maintain clinical competency. Adhere to facility policies and procedures and participates in facility quality improvement and safety programs. Participate in and/or provide in-service education sessions. Oversee Falls Program and Pressure Sore Program for those residents on their team.
