RHINELANDER - Voters across the Northwoods showed up at the polls Tuesday.
In the weeks leading up to the election, candidates urged people to get out and vote.
This election was rumored to have the highest voter turnout in a midterm election, coming in at more than 50%.
SHEBOYGAN - A 21-year-old Sheboygan man has been arrested following an overnight standoff with police.
Sheboygan Press Media reports the man was taken into custody about 9 a.m. Tuesday. The standoff began about 8:30 p.m. Monday after police received calls that a 21-year-old man made comments that worried his family. Police say the man had weapons in the house.
MADISON - The candidates for Wisconsin Governor make a final push to get votes in today's election.
Governor Scott Walker campaigned Monday with former G-O-P vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan in Sun Prairie.
Walker and Ryan talked to two-hundred supporters at a local tractor supply store.

MADISON - Research done at the University of Wisconsin shows an increase in the number of Americans at risk of being evicted.
Some may simply not be able to pay the rent due to higher rates.
Others are being kicked out by landlords for minor violations.
TOWN OF SCOTT - Firefighters in Lincoln County credit a group of neighbors for saving cattle during a barn fire near Merrill Monday morning.
The group of 30 to 40 people formed a half mile long fence line to move some of the cattle.
They were moving cattle away from a barn fire at W6945 Joe Snow Road in the Town of Scott. Workers believe a wood burner started the fire around 5:30 a.m.
WISCONSIN - A legislator in Wisconsin still wants a bill that will allow a terminally ill person to end their life, but it hasn't happened yet.
29-year-old Brittany Maynard of Oregon decided to end her life Saturday. She had incurable brain cancer.
Oregon, Washington and Vermont all have a "Death With Dignity" law.
MADISON - Wisconsin election officials say state voters have cast nearly 290,000 absentee votes ahead of Tuesday's election.
According to the state Government Accountability Board, which oversees Wisconsin elections, voters had cast 289,615 absentee ballots as of noon Monday. A little more than 216,361 ballots were cast early in local clerk's offices. The remaining 73,254 ballots were cast by mail or other methods.
NORTHWOODS - Polls will open across Wisconsin Tuesday morning at 7 a.m.
Groups on both sides of the ballot were out Monday getting last minute information to voters. Both parties in the Northwoods wanted to remind people about Election Day Tuesday.
In Oneida County, the Republican Party headquarters spent the day calling people in the area.
ST. GERMAIN - Some children face bullying every day.
That's what motivated a group of Northwoods fourth graders to try to stop bullying in their district.
Lauren Malanche, Camryn Cox, and Alyssa Kains are fourth graders at St. Germain Elementary School.
WOODRUFF - Municipal clerks kept busy Monday preparing for Tuesday's election.
They needed to set up the polling place and take care of required paper work.
The town clerk and deputy clerk in Woodruff also went through all the absentee ballots they've gotten.
MARATHON COUNTY - A man who got shot over the weekend in Marathon County will face charges.
The Marathon County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting in the Town of Frankfort. It happened Sunday around 4:15 p.m. They say two brothers got into a physical fight involving a gun. One of the brothers had a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
PARK FALLS - A new person will represent parts of Price, Iron, and Vilas Counties in the Wisconsin State Assembly next year. Rep. Janet Bewley (D-Ashland) is running for the state senate instead of the 74th Assembly seat.
Voters will choose between Beth Meyers (D-Bayfield) and Jamey Francis (R-Hurley). Meyers believes the biggest issue in the district is job creation.
NORTHERN WISCONSIN - Lakes in Northern Wisconsin don't have as many walleye as they did in the past. Adult walleye populations in the ceded territory have declined 2% every year.
Populations of young walleye have declined more than that. DNR scientists think that's because walleye aren't reproducing as much. Reproduction has declined 6% every year.
Researchers are looking at past numbers to find out why.
APPLETON - Criminal charges are expected against a Green Bay man believed to be responsible for a stabbing at an Appleton nightclub.
One person who was stabbed early Sunday required surgery for his wounds and two other men were injured in the disturbance at Antro nightclub.
Police say a fight was in progress on the dance floor when officers arrived.
MARATHON COUNTY - We now know the name of a man killed in a car crash in Marathon County.
According to a Facebook post from the Marathon County Sheriff's Department, 88 year old Norman Hack of the Town of Marathon died of his injuries.
He was a passenger in one of two cars that collided in the town of Marathon.
MARATHON COUNTY - The Marathon County Sheriff's Department is investigating a shooting in the Town of Frankfort.
There was a family disturbance Sunday night.
One family member shot the other.
MADISON - Voter turnout in Wisconsin may reach a record level for a year with no presidential race.
Republican Governor Scott Walker and Democratic challenger Mary Burke think voter turnout will be one key to victory in Tuesday's election.
It looks like they'll get it.

OSHKOSH - The Oshkosh police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with hazardous materials found inside a home.
Oshkosh police blocked off a four-block area Friday afternoon after a "potential hazardous material" was found in a home.

MARATHON - A two car crash sent two people to the hospital and left another dead in the town of Marathon.
The Marathon County Sheriff's Office says the two cars crashed at the intersection of State Highway 107 and County Highway N. It happened just after 9:10 p.m. on Saturday.
Deputies say one of the cars was going east on County Highway N.
GALE, WI - A hunter on the lookout for squirrels accidentally shot a bow hunter in the head in western Wisconsin.
According to the Trempealeau County sheriff's department, the hunter saw movement by a tree and, thinking it was a squirrel, fired at it in the Town of Gale.
MILWAUKEE - World War II and Korean War veterans not only got a trip to Washington D.C. to visit war memorials erected in their honor, but they also got another treat.
Brewers all-star catcher Jonathan Lucroy was among the dozens of volunteers traveling with 88 veterans from Milwaukee Saturday morning for the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
RACINE - A more than 3.5 hour standoff in Racine ended with the man arrested and a dog shot and killed.
Forty-nine-year-old Kim Polk says the confrontation started after the man's dog had a bowel movement in her yard while she was using a leaf blower.
When she asked the man to dispose of it, he allegedly kicked it into leaves and then threatened to use a bow and arrow on her and her dog.
RINGLE - Investigators in Marathon County want to know what caused a house fire early Sunday morning.
A home on the 14,000 block of River Road in the township of Ringle was severely damaged in the fire.
Firefighters got the call just after 6:20 in the morning.
STEVENS POINT - Police in Stevens Point arrested a 32-year-old man for home invasions.
Detectives from the Stevens Point Police Department took Nelly Makalin into custody Friday. That's after they got reports of three home invasions in the early morning hours on Halloween.
