Ensures that the testing of all modifications is performed before manned pressurization. •Evaluates hyperbaric chamber equipment/supplies used in the chamber and ensures that they meet all safety requirements before they are permitted inside the chamber. •Maintains a safe environment in the hyperbaric facility for patients and staff and uses approved and recognized decompression procedures for all persons with a hyperbaric exposure to inert gases. •Informs personnel of any special work conditions such as infection control, hazard control, and confined spaces. •Conducts quarterly hyperbaric chamber fire safety drills which are tailored to improve staff response to emergency situations. •Sets up a procedure to assist the Medical Director in reviewing and documenting safety-related events and discusses appropriate event with other to facilitate learning. Details: ABOUT THE POSITION We are currently seeking a dynamic ABA Reviewer to join our team at our office in Jacksonville, FL. The ABA Reviewer Provides clinical review of Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA) services covered under the Comprehensive Autism Care Demonstration (CACD) for the TRICARE South eligible beneficiaries. Reviews clinical data for adherence to TRICARE standards and analysis beneficiary progress towards treatment plan objectives and goals. Conducts benefit and medical necessity second level review using professional knowledge, TRICARE standards, ValueOptions Clinical Criteria, recognized therapeutic modalities, treatment planning and discharge planning review for pre-authorization as well as concurrent care. Perform all duties within the scope of his/her licensure. Position Responsibilities: Perform clinical review of ABA services provided by a BCBA, BCBA-D or otherwise authorized TRICARE provider for a beneficiary with diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), to validate appropriateness to address beneficiaries’ diagnosis condition and medical necessity. Perform assessment of clinical data received via telephonic, electronic and written transmission to determine TRICARE ABA benefits, TRICARE manuals adherence, acuity of needs, progress towards treatment plan objectives and goals, appropriate services requested, and continuation of authorization. Provide beneficiaries and external customers with accurate information regarding benefits and utilization management practices, in accordance to Policies and Procedures and Standard Operational Procedure (SOP). Reviews the ABA assessment, treatment plan, psychometric testing standards, and progress report(s) submitted by treating provider(s). Determines if all TRICARE standardized components are indicated such as targeted skills, goals and objectives that are measurable, time limited and appropriate for beneficiaries. Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Comprehensive Autism Care Demonstration (CACD). Accurately and professionally document all authorization decisions, communication with providers, beneficiaries, verification of eligibility, and provider status into the MSR system, Active Advice, INFOrm and/or Access DataLog complying with contractually established timeframe standards. Conducts records review of beneficiaries receiving ABA for compliance with TRICARE Operations Manual Chapter 18, Section 18. Review will include evaluation of progress measurements and analysis of number of hours of BCBA/BCBA-D supervision. Conduct Peer Reviews with treating providers in the same licensure category providing ABA services. Conducts a peer clinical review in a state or territory of the United States. Will follow the ValueOptions Federal/Beacon Health Options peer review policy and procedures and complete review within TRICARE contractual time lines. Will provide leadership and training to providers about TRICARE and ValueOptions Federal/Beacon Health Options policies and procedures and best practices. Is available to provide consultation on ABA cases referred by Patient Care Coordinators, Case Managers, ECHO/ABA Care Coordinator or Clinical Supervisor to ensure quality and consistent application of TRICARE Manual, Clinical Criteria, policies and procedures and URAC standards within the limits of the client benefits plan and contributes to ValueOptions Federal clinical/interdisciplinary rounds. Acts as a resource and provides oversight, guidance and assistance to functions assigned to ECHO/ABA Customer Assistant (ECA) staff.
