The Milwaukee/Nari Tour of Remodeled Homes is coming up this weekend.
A call for spiritual counselors in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE -- A call for spiritual counselors to help families of homicide victims in Milwaukee.
The announcement came at what is known as the Ceasefire Breakfast.
The Salvation Army is looking for chaplains to go through training with Milwaukee police.
Once counselors are trained, one will be sent to every murder scene in the city to offer spiritual guidance to the friends and family of the victim.
"The faith leaders play such an important role in reaching people the government can't reach," Barrett said. "And they can really be strong partners to us to help people in their lives so that we can reduce the violence in the city."
Barrett also said statistics show violence in the city of Milwaukee overwhelmingly involve male black victims and male black suspects.
