A dog that was found badly burned in April 2014 -- and underwent multiple emergency surgeries -- may finally have some justice. More than a year after Beatrice was found with life-threatening burns covering 90 percent of her body, the suspect accused of abusing her will face a plea and sentencing hearing. Five-year-old Beatrice wandered away from home that April and was found 11 days later outside of the Potowatomi Casino. Christopher Hanson, 21, has been charged with two felonies, including mistreatment of animals. Surgeons were ablke to apply pigskin to treat her second and third degree burns. It was a procedure that had never been done before on an animal. The procedue cost about $3,000, all of which was donated.
