Details: SCOPE OF POSITION: The Field Claims Operational Auditor will assess the organizational and operational risks for assigned projects. Design and prepare audit programs. Establish contact with audit clients. Conduct fieldwork, prepare work papers, draft reports, and follow up on observations and recommendations. This position will conduct a preliminary investigation, conduct interviews and/or on-site information gathering, generate a summary with facts, and make recommendations on cases which have been identified that a plan of action/corrective action is required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Lead the preparation of documents and audit of all claims for all external audits performed for Employer Groups, Delegated Groups and Regulatory agencies. • Serves as the liaison between Claim Operations and the Delegated, Performance and External groups for audit requests, changes, and/or inquiries. • Participates in companywide or specific projects as a subject matter expert for operations. • Oversee auditing of vendors, and determine scope of investigation required. • Ensures claim history is received in a timely manner from all vendors performing claims processing. • Develops solid professional working relationships with various internal department and units and, as required, vendors, providers, employers and /or other customers. • Receives and reviews all performance reporting for all vendors performing claims processing and/or functions supporting claims processing. • Responsible for sustaining processes and executing process improvement and quality monitoring within Operations and the business processes impacted by Operations data and systems. • Conducts semi-annual/quarterly/annual audits and onsite reviews, in accordance with Claims Policy. • Facilitates and audits for key controls within Operations. • Coordinates, develops, and communicates policies and procedures to ensure operational compliance. • Reviews testing, quality control, and other reports for accuracy, completeness and compliance to requirements to ensure that quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements are met. • Required to assist with on-site audits, to include interaction with outside auditing teams, researching claims questions, and providing requested and appropriate documentation. • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings. • Develop correct action plans as required. • Maintains current and accurate records of all relevant communications, audits, corrective action plans, and effectiveness monitoring. • Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, nonessential, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies. • Examine whether the organization's objectives are reflected in its management activities, and whether employees understand the objectives. • Examine records and interview workers to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with laws and regulations. • Make computer system inquiries and entries in order to obtain claims-related information, release claims, adjust payments and resolve claims-related problems. • Produce up-to-the-minute information, using internal computer systems, to allow management to base decisions on actual, not historical, data. • Conduct pre-implementation audits to determine if systems and programs under development will work as planned. • Conduct focus audit if necessary as result of deficiencies identified in an audit or as result of complains. • Perform claims analysis requested by management. • Provide efficient and confidential support to the Claims Department. • Recognizes and observes all company and departmental policies and procedures. • Identifies opportunities to utilize information systems technology to improve quality through efficiency whenever possible as process improvement. • Monitors and analyzes operational performance metrics, quality assurance and complaint processes when indicated. • Coordinates with internal and external department personnel in order to ensure that internal controls are operating effectively and that Delegated process documentation reflects current work practices. • Employee must meet all standards of excellence for their unit to include – Statistical 98%, Financial 99.3% and 98.65%. OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Being able to report to work on time and work the days scheduled is essential to this position. • Work independently; seek guidance and confirmation of progress as required. • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required. • In state and out of state travel is required, up to one or two week per month. NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned. These may include, but are not limited to, work groups, proposals, audits and back-up support for other departments. • Identify system, provider and other adjudication problems. • Maintain department reports and statistical data.

Lead projects to improve quality of processes, products and components as a result of internal/external findings or customer complaints. Perform joint analysis of complex problems with suppliers, design, manufacturing and other departments, to determine root cause and support development of countermeasures. Leads or participates in Kaizen activities to analyze and develop countermeasures to customer complaints associated with processes, equipment, and completed parts. Initiates and completes all studies, such as CPK, of all parts supplied to Hitachi Automotive Systems. (HIAMS) customers. Document data, maintain database and develop computerized status reports related to inspection activities, nonconforming items, and other process, material or product quality related issues. Oversee and monitor activities of the product sorting function and return of defective parts, including problem analysis, training and assignment.
