Mary Louise Mahy

Mary Louise Mahy, 84, of Manawa, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She was born on Oct. 1, 1930, daughter of the late Bernard and Fredia (Hein) Kuhn.

Mary graduated from Shawano High School in 1948. On Nov. 19, 1955, she was united in marriage to Gene Mahy; he preceded her in death in 2009. After staying at home with the kids when they were young, she worked at various businesses in Shawano, lastly as a housekeeper at the Best Western. She enjoyed working as a volunteer at St. John’s Thrift Shop in New London. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa, where she made quilts for those in need. Some of her hobbies included needlework and sewing.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Dyan) Mahy, Fond du Lac, Jane (Phil) Severinski, Woodridge, Illinois, and Rachel (Doug) Beyer, Manawa; eight grandchildren, Josh, Ryan, Erin, Philip, Katie, Hailey, Dusty and Corey; two great-grandchildren, Michaela and Makenzie; a sister, Barbara Parrott, Shawano; brother-in-law, Raymond Mahy, Oshkosh. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, also a sister, Betty Mitchell.

A memorial service for Mary will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 742 Depot St., Manawa, with the Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. A gathering of family and friends will take place directly at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Arlene A. Katuin

Arlene A. (Wentworth) Katuin was born May 21, 1937, to G. Dwight Wentworth and Alice (Johnson) Wentworth in St. Paul, Minnesota. She died of complications of cancer March 9, 2015, in Shawano.

She trusted the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior at an early age and spent a lifetime of faithful fellowship with her Lord. Together with her then husband-to-be, she was a 1959 graduate of Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Owatonna, Minnesota. Arlene was united in marriage to Pastor Raymond C. Katuin on Aug. 14, 1959.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years; daughter, Cheryl Katuin, of Shawano; son, Gary (Susan) Katuin, of Green Bay; sisters, Barbara (Roger) Jentink and Sylvia (Raymond) Glewwe; brothers, David (Beverly) Wentworth and Steve (Louise) Wentworth.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 14, at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church, 1601 Libal St., Green Bay. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Barbara J. Tourtillott

Late Saturday morning, March 7, our beautiful, gracious and loving mother, Barbara Jane Tourtillott, age 68, passed away peacefully in Appleton.

Barbara was born on Dec. 4, 1946, in Keshena, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Mildred (Fossum) Kaquatosh. Barbara received an associate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and went on to work as an administrative assistant for the Menominee Tribe for many years.

On Aug. 13, 1992, Barbara was united in marriage to Lavern “Vern” Tourtillott Jr. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit. In their free time, Barb and Vern enjoyed watching the birds, doing crossword puzzles, playing cribbage and spending time with the family. Barb especially loved her Saturday shopping trips and Sunday visits that included the Sunday newspaper and a fresh loaf of bread. She was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and enjoyed the time she spent volunteering at church activities.

She was a very proud mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Vern; five children, Lois Waukau, Paula Waukau, Kathy Waukau, William (Tracy) Waukau and Sandra (Brent) Waubanascum; three sisters, Clara (Tom) Hartman, Jeanette (Robert) Orheim and Olga (Jim) Duran; a brother, Bernard J. (Charlotte) Kaquatosh; numerous grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Barbara is resting in God’s heavenly arms with three grandchildren, Alex, Kateri and Jeffrey; her parents; and three brothers, Alfred Kaquatosh, Clifford Kaquatosh and Eugene Kaquatosh.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. Charles Hoffman and Deacon Tom Hartman officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the Kiefer Room at the Neopit Community Center until the time of the services Wednesday. A parish wake service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in the Kiefer Room.

David R. Strehlow Sr.

David Strehlow Sr., of Saukville, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Port Washington. He was 78 years old.

Dave was born in Salem on June 29, 1936, son of Henry Strehlow and Lucille Lee Strehlow. Dave grew up in the Bonduel area, graduating from Bonduel High School in 1954. After high school, Dave served his country in the U.S. Navy. On June 8, 1957, he married Nancy Sperberg in Bonduel.

Dave worked as a meat cutter for many area grocery stores, including Piggly Wiggly in Saukville, where he retired in 2001. He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Saukville and Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470. Dave enjoyed fishing Lake Michigan and hunting just about anything he could. His favorite hunt was when he shot a bear in northern Wisconsin.

Dave is survived by his wife, Nancy, of Saukville; three sons, David Strehlow Jr., of Milwaukee, Stephen Strehlow, of Saukville, and Carl (Sue) Strehlow, of Belgium. He is further survived by three grandchildren, Derrick, Max and Carly Sue; brother, Hank (Karen) Strehlow, of Princeton; foster sister, Phyllis Kepichski, of Florida; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lee (the late Dee); and two foster brothers, Ralph and Carl Yuenger.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, at 3 p.m. at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 166 W. Dekora St., Saukville, with Pastor Brian Damrow presiding. He will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Suring. Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 14, at the church from 1-3 p.m.

Cleo A. Holewinski

Cleo A. Holewinski, 87, of Shawano, formerly of Green Bay, passed away Wednesday evening, March 4, 2015, at ManorCare of Shawano, where she had been a resident for the past three years.

Cleo was born May 26, 1927, in Green Bay, a daughter of the late Daniel and Anna (Marto) Nelson. She attended school in Green Bay. In 1959, Cleo was united in marriage to Ray Holewinski.

Cleo had been employed as a sales clerk for many years at Schmidt’s Department Store and later at the H.C. Prange Department Store in Green Bay. Her husband preceded her in death in 1998. Cleo is a former member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Green Bay. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was an avid sketch artist.

She is survived by her children, daughter Linda Vandenack, of Shawano, and son Dale (Darlene) Rouse Sr., of Bonduel; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Cleo is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

Cleo was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine Radetski, and her brother, Daniel Nelson.

Funeral services for Cleo Holewinski will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral and Cremation Service of Shawano. Pastor Susan Phillips will officiate. Entombment will be at Fort Howard Cemetery, Green Bay. Relatives and friends may call at Mickelson Funeral Service after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Roger P. Treptow

Roger P. Treptow, 70, Wabeno, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born on Dec. 30, 1944, the son of the late Edward Treptow Sr. and Lucille (Fuhrman) Treptow, Wittenberg.

Roger was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Davenport-Lang American Legion Post 414, Bowler. He worked as a welder at the former J.I. Case, Schofield, for over 25 years. Roger enjoyed going for rides on his yellow boat, ATVing and snowmobiling. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his life partner since 1973, Rose Serrano, Wabeno; his mother, Lucille Treptow, Wittenberg; one son, John (Theresa) Serrano, Birnamwood; two grandchildren, Terri Serrano and Joseph Serrano; and his siblings, Ken (Melodie) Treptow, Hinckley, Illinois, Betty Treptow, Fond du Lac, Dick (Sandi Pranke) Treptow, Wittenberg, Ed (Cindy) Treptow, Bowler, and Patsy (Gary) Koenig, Bowler. He is also survived by Rose’s family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his father, Roger was preceded in death by one son, Mark Serrano, one brother, Gerald Treptow, and sister-in-law, Pat Treptow.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bowler. The Rev. Michael Schram will officiate. Interment will be in the town of Almon Cemetery, Shawano County, with military rites conducted by the Bloecher-Johnson American Legion Post 502. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Kenneth T. Reinke

Kenneth T. Reinke, 88, of Clintonville, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015, at his residence.

Kenneth Theodore Reinke was born Dec. 29, 1926, to the late Theodore and Elsie (Schulz) Reinke in Clintonville. His boyhood was spent growing up on the family dairy farm, where he learned the meaning of a good work ethic. He was baptized and later confirmed at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. After school, Ken started work as a farm hand and also worked as a carpenter.

Ken was united in marriage to Esther Krueger on Dec. 8, 1951, at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. He later worked at Hotz’s Lumber and Marion Plywood. In 1966, he took over the home family farm, and later took a job at Larsen Canning Company, Hortonville, where he would retire years later. Ken was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clintonville. He was an avid deer hunter. After retirement, Ken found time for his love of woodworking as well.

Ken will be remembered for his one-of-a-kind personality, whether it was cracking a joke, pulling pranks or having a long conversation.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Esther; children, Carl Reinke, Marion, Carla (Jim) Hansen, Shawano, Chuck (Betty) Reinke, Merrill, Cathy (Darwin) Blankschien, Clintonville, Calvin Reinke, Clintonville; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a sister, and a brother.

A private committal was held Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, with the Rev. Titus Buelow officiating. Inurnment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville, in spring.

Dorothea Josephine Maria Stern

Dorothea Josephine Maria Stern, 98, of Bonduel, entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the early hours of Thursday, March 5, 2015. Born on Feb. 13, 1917, in Thornton, she was the first born of the late George and Helen (Krause) Lehrke, Sr.

On Dec. 18, 1935, Dorothea married Adolph Stern at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel. Together the couple farmed on the home farm in the town of Hartland. They were married six days shy of 62 years as Adolph preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1996. Dorothea later worked at Schultz’s Family Store until her retirement.

Dorothea is survived by her daughter, Alice (Jerry) Schneider, of Cecil; grandson, Jesse Schneider, Cecil; her sister-in-law, Edith Lehrke, of Bonduel; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothea was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Vernon Pohlman; and a brother, George Lehrke Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Harley Kopitske officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel.

Harvey A. Steffen

Harvey A. Steffen, 83, of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015.

Harvey was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Wausau to Harvey and Margaret (Voelske) Steffen. He graduated from Wausau High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Education degree. He later earned his master’s degree in school administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Harvey was united to Maralyn Bramer on Aug. 6, 1955, in Wausau. He started his career in the Shawano School District as a math teacher in 1955 and later served as the principal of the schools in Neopit, Keshena, Franklin Middle School and Olga Brener Elementary School. He retired after more than 35 years in the Shawano School District.

Harvey was a devoted educator both in his career and his volunteer activities. He served on many committees, including the boards of the Shawano library, Navarino Nature Center, the county long-term support committee and the Shawano County Retired Teachers Association. After retirement, he continued to contribute to the schools as a volunteer in the Junior Achievement program. He played clarinet in the Shawano summer band with his son and grandson. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Shawano.

Harvey liked nothing better than to be in a boat fishing on Shawano Lake or Up North with his family. He was a gifted woodworker, often designing and building custom pieces for his family. He loved his family and was extremely proud of his grandchildren. Harvey had an exceptional gift for connecting to kids and young adults. He often heard from former students that he had made a positive impact on their life.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maralyn; two sons, Randy (Ann) and David, of Shawano; one daughter, Lisa, of Shawano; one sister, Marilynn, of Wausau; seven grandchildren, Scott, of Green Bay, Ryan, of Shawano, Jacob, Caytlin, Rachel, Nathan and Seth, all of Franklin; and one son-in-law, Mat, of Franklin.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cindy and his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Gisele Berninghaus officiating, with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano and again at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family would like to express their thanks to Hospice and the second-floor staff at Shawano Medical Center for the excellent and compassionate care they provided to Harvey during his stay, and to Kindred Hearts of Shawano for the wonderful care he received and for making him feel at home.

Marianne J. Severson

Marianne J. Severson, former member of the Writers Inc. Group in Shawano, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, at the age of 89.

Survived by her husband, Oral; daughters Judi, Sharon and Lori; grandsons, Jay, Jim and Wes; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Paige and Jaiden.

Services will be at the Church and Chapel, 15201 W. National Ave., in New Berlin on Thursday, March 5. Viewing from 3-5 p.m., service at 5.

George W. Frank

George W. Frank, 97, passed away Feb. 28, 2015. He was born Feb. 18, 1918, in the town of Underhill to the late William and Hattie (Smith) Frank.

George married Marie Dicke on Dec. 26, 1945. He served his country during World War II, spending three years in the Pacific region. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. In 2009 he participated in the Honors Flight.

He farmed on the family farm until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau and served as a director. He loved to travel, and his favorite destination was the Great Wall of China. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening and making firewood.

George is survived by his wife, Marie, of 69 years; one son, Gary (Jean) Frank; four daughters, Wanda (Noel) Nienstedt and Jane Frederick, all of Gillett, Paula (Norman) Buhrandt, of Suring, and Lynn (Michael) Kaufman, of Cary, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, Carlye Frank, Lindsey Nienstedt, Kelli Frederick, Kyle (Kelly) Frederick, Trisha (Jason) Stage, Tabatha (Rich) Koehler, Paul (special friend Angie) Buhrandt, Kurt (JoAnna) Buhrandt, Mark (special friend Sarah) Buhrandt, Kathryn (Josh) Zellmer, Aubrey Kaufman; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister in-law, Kathryn Firgens, and many nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Arthur, Benjamin, Nels (Bub), Warren and Rueben; one sister, Jenny Mogenson; and a grandson, Lance Frank.

Zastrow Funeral Home of Cecil is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held at Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil from 9 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. on March 7, 2015, with the Rev. Mike Paholke officiating.

Special thanks to Unity Hospice, Cheryl and Dana. In lieu of flowers, memorials to veterans and hospice are appreciated.

Marvin J. Leonard Sr.

Marvin J. Leonard Sr., 82, formerly of Wittenberg, died Monday, March 2, 2015, at Pine Manor Health Care, Embarrass. He was born on March 1, 1933, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Nicodemus and Marion (Manowski) Leonard.

Marvin was united in marriage to Linda Hansen in 1982. She survives.

Marvin worked as an automobile dealer and mechanic. He also was the home school coordinator at Potch-Chee-Nunk for a number of years. Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, stock-car races, singing and telling stories. He also enjoyed traveling across the country to go to car auctions and going to the casino.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Leonard, Elderon; nine children, Faith (Ben) Morris, Chilton, Nicodemus Leonard, Wabeno, Anna Leonard, White Lake, Marvin Leonard Jr., Lake Dalton, Fredrich Leonard, Antigo, Thomas (Tina) Leonard, Wabeno, Rose (Evan) Logan, Wisconsin Dells, Joseph (Sara) Leonard, Elderon, and Patricia Leonard, Bowler; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Randall Leonard, West Bend; foster son, Lyle Garton, Wittenberg; and a special buddy, Leonard “Lenny” Cheyka. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Maryann Leonard; one son, Gerald Leonard; and three grandchildren, Monica Leonard, Kenneth Reed and Nicole V. Leonard-Houghton.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Potch-Chee-Nunk Community Center, Wittenberg. Lorenzo Funmaker will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the Community Center.

Maynard Fischer, 76, of Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015, in Green Bay. Maynard was born in Angelica on May 18, 1938, to the late Adolph and Minnie (Laub) Fischer. Maynard graduated from Devroy College in Milwaukee and went on to work as an electronics repairman. He enjoyed his job and traveled to many parts of the region for work. His faith was also very important to him, and he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Zachow. In his free time, he enjoyed walks in the woods and trips to McDonalds.

Maynard is survived by two sisters-in-law, Sharon Fischer and Esther Fischer; as well as nieces and nephews, Gerald Vomastic, Randall Vomastic, Diane (Larry) Banaszynski, Sandy (fiancé Jack) Kozicki, Richard (Julie) Vomastic, Marcia (Blair) Dudek, and Terry, Kim, Bryan, April, Patty, Sharmin, Yasmin, Heidi and Yancy Fischer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Norma (Clarence) Vomastic; three brothers, Charles, Bernard and Adolph Fischer; one sister-in-law, Beverly Fischer; and nephews, Dennis Vomastic and Russell Fischer.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015, at Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel with the Rev. Virgil Hanson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Chase Cemetery in Sobieski.

Susan L. Schultz

Susan L. Schultz, 55, of Embarrass, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015, at her home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

The former Susan Lee Lenzner was born on Oct. 30, 1959, in Shawano to Henry “Dick” and Donna (Wruck) Lenzner. Sue was raised in Shawano, where she graduated from high school in 1978. She was united in marriage on Aug. 22, 1981, to Timothy E. Schultz in Embarrass. Sue worked for some years at both Dairy Queen and at McDonalds in Shawano. In 1986 she started farming with her husband in the town of Larrabee, Waupaca County, and the couple settled at their current home in the village of Embarrass in 1992.

Sue was a member of Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, where she helped out with salad luncheons and funeral dinners. In her younger years, she volunteered with her children’s local 4-H club, and she also liked snowmobiling. She enjoyed playing pool and pitching horseshoes for several area teams. Sue’s other interests included cooking, fishing and listening to ’70s classic rock, especially music by Bob Seger and Jimmy Buffett. She was great at solving jigsaw puzzles and often won at Rummy 500. The couple also traveled around the country to visit different states and see the sites. When Sue got her motorcycle license, she went on lots of road trips with her husband or with a girlfriend.

Over the years there were many high school kids who helped out on the dairy farm, and Sue was like the “mother hen” to them. She taught them the value of hard work and how to live. Sue always thought with her head but led with her heart.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Tim; two children, Abigail (Michael) Idriss, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Otto Schultz, of Embarrass; one grandson, Coldyn Schultz; and her mother, Donna Lenzner, of Shawano. There are two sisters-in-law, Pat (Jim) Eng, of Freedom, and Becky Schultz of Kaukauna. There are two brothers-in-law, John Schultz, of Eldridge, Iowa, and Dave (Terri) Schultz, of Embarrass. There are three special cousins, Karen, Cherie and Julie, whom she was the closest to. Sue is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, an infant sister, Marie, and her father- and mother-in-law, Walter and Ruth Schultz.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. The Rev. Brian Crocker will officiate, and burial will be in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Embarrass. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Clintonville High School for the annual musicals, to the County Line or Pella Eagles 4-H, or to a charity of your own choice.

The family wishes to thank all the nurses and staff at Appleton Medical Center and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the compassionate and loving care given to Sue.

George W. Frank

George W. Frank, 97, passed away Feb. 28, 2015. He was born Feb. 18, 1918, in the town of Underhill to the late William and Hattie (Smith) Frank.

George married Marie Dicke on Dec. 26, 1945. He served his country during World War II, spending three years in the Pacific region. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. In 2009 he participated in the Honors Flight.

He farmed on the family farm until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau and served as a director. He loved to travel, and his favorite destination was the Great Wall of China. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening and making firewood.

George is survived by his wife, Marie, of 69 years; one son, Gary (Jean) Frank; four daughters, Wanda (Noel) Nienstedt and Jane Frederick, all of Gillett, Paula (Norman) Buhrandt, of Suring, and Lynn (Michael) Kaufman, of Cary, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, Carlye Frank, Lindsey Nienstedt, Kelli Frederick, Kyle (Kelly) Frederick, Trisha (Jason) Stage, Tabatha (Rich) Koehler, Paul (special friend Angie) Buhrandt, Kurt (JoAnna) Buhrandt, Mark (special friend Sarah) Buhrandt, Kathryn (Josh) Zellmer, Aubrey Kaufman; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister in-law, Kathryn Firgens, and many nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Arthur, Benjamin, Nels (Bub), Warren and Rueben; one sister, Jenny Mogenson; and a grandson, Lance Frank.

Zastrow Funeral Home of Cecil is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held at Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil from 9 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. on March 7, 2015, with the Rev. Mike Paholke officiating.

Myra R. Vomastic

Myra R. Vomastic, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at her home in Shawano.

Myra was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Embarrass, a daughter of the late Gustave and Adelia (Schulz) Berndt. She attended country schools.

On May 24, 1947, Myra was united in marriage to Harold Vomastic at Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass. Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in the town of Waukechon. The couple retired from farming and moved to Shawano in 1985. Harold preceded her in death on June 15, 2011. Since her marriage to Harold, Myra was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano.

Myra was an avid flower gardener, enjoyed playing cards, and visiting. She took great pride in all of her endeavors.

Survivors include her children Theodore Vomastic, Maureen (Jon) Shively, Jean (Benjamin) Ziemer, Deborah (Roy) Pleshek, Tim (Lori) Vomastic, and Barb (Steve) Reed, all of Shawano; 14 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Smith of New London, and Rogean Ehlert of Shawano; and many nieces and nephews.

Myra was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Berndt, and her sisters, Betty Nollenberg, Evelyn Schmidt, and an infant sister, Beatrice Berndt.

Funeral services for Myra Vomastic will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church. Pastor Ted Andrada will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery of Shawano. Relatives and friends may call at St. James Lutheran Church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. James Lutheran Church.

Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano is in charge of the service arrangements.
