Duffey, Rosario lead Twins to 5-1 win over Indians

Tyler Duffey pitched seven scoreless innings, Eddie Rosario drove in three runs and the Minnesota Twins won their first road series of the season with a 5-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Sunday.

Kohlwey hits for the cycle as UW-La Crosse wins WIAC baseball title

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse baseball team captured the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship (presented by Culver's) with a 14-5 victory over UW-Whitewater Sunday afternoon at Copeland Park. The Eagles, ranked fourth on this week's D3baseball.com Top-25 Poll, improve to 34-8 overall while the Warhawks, ranked 15th in the nation, drop to 29-14. The 34 overall wins for UWL are tied for second in single-season school history. The Eagles also won 34 games in 2012 while winning a school record 36 games in 2015.

Norris, Upton Jr. homer in 12th, Padres beat Brewers 8-7

Derek Norris and Melvin Upton Jr. hit back-to-back solo homers in the top of the 12th inning to lift the San Diego Padres to an 8-7 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night.

The junior golfer was a semifinalist for the Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year award, was named to the Division III Central All-Region team and qualified for the national tournament taking place this week. Rain didn't put a stop to the local sports scene and SportScene 13 was there weathering the elements along with area athletes, gathering highlights from nine games in all for your viewing pleasure! On the diamond, Eau Claire North welcomed Rice Lake to Carson Park in Big Rivers play, while in the Western Cloverbelt, leaders Altoona squared off against Cadott and Eau Claire Regis took on Thorp. In the circle, Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire North finished their doubleheader from one week ago, Thorp traveled to Gelein Field to take on Eau Claire Regis and Altoona met Cadott. Also, the new top ranked team in Division 1 girls soccer, Eau Claire Memorial plays BRC rival Chippewa Falls and on the track, Memorial, North, Regis and Altoona compete in the Eau Claire Intracity meet. In the college ranks, the WIAC announced its season ending softball awards, with UW-Eau Claire well represented as head coach Leslie Huntington was named coach of the year and junior shortstop Evie Schaller named co-position player of the year.

Brewers win rematch against Marlins' Conley, 10-2
