Paul Kling resigns as Eau Claire Memorial head football coach

On Wednesday, Eau Claire Memorial announced head football coach, Paul Kling has resigned after eight years leading the Old Abes. Kling led the Old Abes to the WIAA playoffs in six of those eight years, including a school best Level 3 finish in the Division 1 playoffs this past season. Overall, Kling compiled a record of 38 wins and 41 losses and a 29-27 record in Big Rivers Conference play, including a Co-Conference Championship in 2011.

The Elk Mound baseball team is only two games into it's season, and already they've lived up early expectations. Lefty hurler Brandon Bohl has two wins, including a perfect game last week against Chetek-Weyerhaeuser. Bohl is a "perfect" selection for our Gordy's Athlete of the Week.
