MERRILL - A Lincoln County jury found a Merrill–area man guilty of three charges in court Wednesday in connection to the disappearance and murder of his wife. The jury deliberated for more than 7 ½ hours over a two day period. That was also after six days of testimony and evidence from both the prosecution and defense. Full story: WJFW

RHINELANDER - A landfill near Rhinelander saw more recycling last year. The Oneida County Solid Waste Department had an increase in recycled materials in 2013. People might be buying more because of an improving economy, but that's not the only reason for the increase. Full story: WJFW

EAGLE RIVER - A Northwoods school district could move students to middle and high school earlier than usual. The Northland Pines school district is considering moving 5th graders to the middle school. They might also move 7th and 8th graders to the high school. Full story: WJFW

MERRILL - Update, Wednesday April 16, 2013; 12:30 p.m. A Lincoln County man will spend a minimum of life in prison in connection to the disappearance and murder of his wife. A jury convicted 50-year-old Mark Bucki on three charges in connection his wife Anita's murder. Full story: WJFW

RHINELANDER - Police arrested four people in a meth bust near Rhinelander. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department says the bust went down yesterday in the town of Pine Lake. Full story: WJFW

ACROSS THE NORTHWOODS - Winter can be hard on everything, but you might not think it's hard on fish. They're protected under a layer of ice from the weather. But that layer of ice can create problems if it lasts too long. "You don't get enough light penetration that goes down into the water. So there's no photosynthesis by the algae in the water so there's no oxygen that's produced," says Jim Kreitlow, DNR Lakes Biologist. Full story: WJFW

WISCONSIN - Seven Wisconsin school districts have been awarded a total of $3.2 million in federal grants to help them expand their nutrition and physical-education programs. To qualify, the districts have to implement programs that teach students healthy eating habits and good nutrition. Full story: WJFW

MADISON - Outdoor enthusiasts think Wisconsin should ban deer baiting and feeding in the days leading up to the November gun season. The Conservation Congress is a group of sportsmen that advises the DNR on policy. Full story: WJFW

TOMAHAWK - The number of crashes, injuries, and deaths on Wisconsin railroads shot up last year. Many more drivers and walkers got hurt or killed with trains than in 2012. Railroad safety leaders say people run into two major problems around tracks. Full story: WJFW

THREE LAKES - A local library wants to bring more art into a Northwoods community. The Demmer Memorial Library is featuring M.C. Escher's artwork this week. The exhibit is there to help the public celebrate national library week. Full story: WJFW

MINOCQUA - People need to drive slow since roads are still icy. There was a two car crash at 8 a.m. Tuesday on Old Highway 70 in Minocqua. Full story: WJFW
