NASA launches space probe to chase down asteroid

(CNN)--NASA  launches a space probe Thursday to chase down a dark and potentially dangerous asteroid that scientists say could one day collide with earth. Osiris-Rex is scheduled to blast off this evening from the launch pad at Cape Canaveral. The unmanned probe will arrive at the asteroid, named "Bennu,' sometime in August 2018 and will hang out there for months. It will create a map of the asteroid, take pictures and samples and bring them back to earth.

New York Mets sign Tim Tebow

(CNN)-- Tim Tebow is pursuing his major-league dream. The New York Mets tweeted out that they have signed Tebow to a minor league contract. The former NFL  quarterback held an open tryout last week in front of scouts from 28 of the 30 MLB teams. Tebow will participate in the Mets instructional league.
