Did you win the lottery? $22.5 million winner still a mystery

Mon, 06/01/2015 - 12:35pm
MILWAUKEE -- A big jackpot and a big question mark. Someone in the Milwaukee area has won the lottery. Now, Wisconsin Lottery officials are just waiting for someone to claim the multi-million dollar jackpot. Here at A & I Services, a convenience store located at 5030 West Howard Avenue in Milwaukee -- where the ticket was sold -- there is a small wall of fame. Gary won $1,600 and James won $1,000. This next mystery winner may need the entire wall: $22.5 million -- a record for the Megabucks game. Saturday night’s winning Megabucks numbers were 21, 22, 34, 36, 40, 43. "It's exciting. People are very people happy here around the neighborhood. Very happy," said cashier Shah Bacha. The Megabucks draws twice a week, so Bacha concedes he doesn't even know when the mystery winner even bought the ticket. The odds of winning the Megabucks jackpot are 1:7 million, and the mystery winner now has 180 days to contact lottery services and claim it. The winner could request a lump sum or increments of the jackpot spread out over several years. The convenience store will also get a very small cut of the jackpot.
