Now that the Supreme Court election is over, people are talking about the huge amount of money spent and the political leanings of the candidates.

I have a suggestion that I think most would not be able to argue against.

I disagreed with last Sunday's letter to the editor "Bikes and buses only work for the privileged." It read: “Believing people can bike or bus everywhere is also a shockingly privileged concept.”

Can executive orders replace research for controlling pandemics, pollution and climate change? How will we counter the assault of viruses, toxins, wastes and greenhouse gas emissions without exhaustive research?

I'm thrilled with the recent election of Susan Crawford for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, but I'm horrified by the obscene amount of money spent on the election.

If President Donald Trump was truly concerned about cutting government waste and fraud as well as the rising costs to American taxpayers, he might consider curtailing some of his golf outings.

I turn 65 this year. Over 11,000 people turn 65 every day in the United States, and in four years we will have more older Americans than children for the first time in our history.

Wisconsin stands as a leader with its state-funded crisis intervention training through the wonderful National Alliance on Mental Illness.

When asked about President Donald Trump's ridiculous tariffs, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Oshkosh, had this to say: "Tariffs are a double-edged sword." He also said, "He’s president, I am not."
