For more than four hours, Milwaukee’s Tim Smyczek fought desperately for every point against Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open, chasing down everything the 14-time Grand Slam champion threw at him. Then, with Nadal serving at 6-5 in the fifth set, he gave his foe a break.

Rafael Nadal dropped to his knees and appeared to be on the verge of tears as he celebrated a win at the Australian Open. The 14-time Grand Slam champion has played some epic matches at Rod Laver Arena. This was a comeback second-round win over Milwaukee’s Tim Smyczek.

Serena Williams claims to suffer from nerves and jitters before her first-round matches at the Grand Slams. She certainly didn’t show it, winning her first set in 21 minutes Tuesday night on the way to a 6-0, 6-4 win over Alison Van Uytvanck at the Australian Open.
