Markesan 50, CWC 24: The Hornets raced out to a 22-9 lead after one quarter and didn't look back, holding the Crusaders to four points over the second and third quarters.

Fond du Lac 56, Menasha 50: The Cardinals got the defensive stops they needed down the stretch, snapping a two-game losing streak and moving to 4-6 (2-5 FVA) on the season.

Lomira 42, Cedar Grove-Belgium: Haley Cole's free throw with 15 seconds left gave the Lions the one-point victory - their fifth-straight win overall.

Fond du Lac 4, Arrowhead 1: In the same Mullett Ice Center they punched their ticket to state in last year, the Cardinals got two goals and an assist from senior Michael Wilson to earn a big nonconference road win over the Warhawks (8-3-1).

Campbellsport 50, Sheboygan Falls 40: Brooke Birschbach's 21 points powered the Cougars, who outscored the Falcons 14-7 in the third quarter to take control. Birschbach had eight in the fourth quarter.

Laconia 62, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 42: A balanced Spartans squad improved to 5-3 on the season as five players scored between eight and 14 points. Haley Smith and Caitlin Tipton led the way with 14 and 12.

It's a sellout. The Packers sold the final 1,000 tickets for Sunday's NFC wild-card playoff game against the 49ers a little more than four hours before the NFL deadline to avoid a local TV blackout, the organization reported just before noon.

Mayville 41, Horicon 26: The Cardinals won seven of the 11 matches wrestled, getting pins from Bryce Harycki (113 pounds), Dakota Danner (132), Airon Herning (138), Tony Giese (182), Dominic Cypher (195) and Cody Priesgen (220).

Randolph 73, Oakfield 36: The ninth-ranked Rockets got a comfortable lead early, then outscored the Oaks 20-4 in the third quarter to blow the game open.

If there is one problem to pick apart from a very good Central Wisconsin Christian boys' basketball team, it is consistency.
