Led by Cody veleke's 17 points, the Marian University men's basketball team cruised past Concordia 75-55 in a Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference game played in Concordia.

The Fond du Lac boys' hockey team got back on the right track Tuesday night, shutting out Beaver Dam 5-0 in a Badgerland Conference game on the road.

Columbus 44, Lomira 38: The Lions trailed the ninth-ranked Cardinals by just one point with two minutes left before Columbus pulled away right at the end.

Following a 1-3 start to the season, the St. Mary's Springs boys basketball team is on a six-game winning streak, capped by comeback wins this past Friday and Saturday over Lomira and Chilton. Against the Lions, junior Colin Ottery hit the game-winning 10-footer at the buzzer for a 46-44 win, and had 18 points Saturday against Chilton - including two crucial free throws in the final minute in a 58-57 win. He's averaging 10.5 points per game this year.

Laconia 49, Horicon 32: The Spartans raced out to a 10-0 lead and cruised from there as Haley Smith led all scorers with 13 points.

Middleton 3, Fond du Lac 1: The Warbirds' 5-game unbeaten streak (4-0-1) was snapped by the Metro Lynx as Fond du Lac's only goal came from Miranda Zipp with 6:41 left in the second period.

Plymouth Invitational: Lomira had a good day at the eight-team round-robin tournament, finishing second to division 1's Wisconsin Rapids - which received honorable mention in the latest wiwrestling.com division 1 rankings. The Lions are a D3 team.

The Marian University men's basketball team picked up another win Saturday, downing Rockford University 83-70 at Sadoff Gymnasium in Fond du Lac to improve to 8-1 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action.

It was tough for Fond du Lac boys hockey coach Ryan Sarazin to watch his team play so good for the first 33 minutes, but then see them fall apart in less than a minute.

Milwaukee Invitational: WLA was one of 15 teams at the tournament hosted by Milwaukee Lutheran, where the Vikings finished seventh.

North Fond du Lac Invitational: Waupun went 2-3 on the day in the dual tournament as Kody Pinch and Lorenzo Sherden went 4-1 at 160 and 170 pounds, respectively.
