Badger Creek Invitational: The Campbellsport golf team won its fourth straight Badger Creek Invitational in New Holstein in convincing fashion, shooting a 334 to take the nine-team title by 39 strokes.

WLA 7, Mayville 4: Playing the second game of a doubleheader that was started Thursday, the Winnebago Lutheran baseball team completed a sweep of Mayville Saturday with a 7-4 road win in Flyway Conference action.

Laconia 3-5, WLA 2-0: Kayla Schwebke pitched two gems for the Laconia softball team Friday evening, allowing a combined two runs on four hits while striking out 24 batters in a sweep of Winnebago Lutheran by scores of 3-2 and 5-0 in Rosendale.

Bulldog Invitational: The St. Mary's Springs boys and girls represented well at Pardeeville, with the Ledger boys finishing first while the girls took second out of 10 teams.

Whatever early season success St. Mary's Springs pitcher Franci Marrese had going on, the Lomira softball team figured it out pretty fast.

Pewaukee Invitational: The Mayville girls won the team title by a 35.5-margin, in large part due to another big night by Hope Kubicek. The senior won four events, including a meet record triple jump of 34 feet, 6.5 inches.

Laconia 3-5, WLA 2-0: Kayla Schwebke pitched two gems for the Spartans, allowing a combined two runs on four hits while striking out 24 batters.

Mayville 7, NFDL 2: The Cardinals jumped on the Orioles with a three-run first inning, and had another in the fifth to pull away.

Wily Peralta doubled home two runs - the first RBIs of his career - and repeatedly escaped trouble during his eight innings on Friday night, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 2-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

Oakfield 15, Cambria-Friesland 4 (5 inn.): Dana Swanson and Paige Peterson both went 3-for-4 for the top-ranked Oaks, who moved to 7-0 (6-0 Trailways).

It serves well to have a short memory in baseball, and Fond du Lac needs one after Friday evening.

CJ Wiese Invitational (Elkhart Lake): Six area teams took part in the 23-team meet at Quit Qui Oc Golf Course, where it was divided into three divisions.

Oakfield 11, Cambria-Friesland 1 (5 inn.): Brett Strong, Ross Ellison and Justin Holz each went 2-for-3 at the plate, with Strong and Ellison knocking in two runs each as the Oaks cruised at home.

Ted Thompson places a premium on athletic big men, so never rule out that the Green Bay Packers' general manager will take a defensive lineman with a prime draft pick.
