LINCOLN COUNTY (WAOW) -

A Merrill man in jail after a shooting incident early Sunday morning. Lincoln County officials say a 31-year-old man arrived at a home in Merrill with several other people, looking for someone.

Authorities say when the person the man was looking for was not there, the suspect held a loaded gun against the head of someone inside the home.

They say the suspect then left and one of the victims followed him. Officials say the male got into a car and drove away. They say the car then stopped, the man got out and fired several rounds before driving away again.

Officers say they were able to find the car at a Merrill tavern. They say the suspect's group still had the gun with them.

Lincoln County authorities report four other people in the group provided false information, leading to all of them being arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer.

They say the 31-year-old man was arrested on a number of things, including first degree recklessly endangering safety, burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon and carrying a handgun where alcohol is served.

Authorities say the handgun was recovered, as well as a number of shell casings.

They say charges may be forwarded for the other four people involved as well.
