Continuing our College Athlete Check-In. Today we catch up with Wisconsin Badger swimmer Austin Byrd. The Chippewa Falls grad earned a top 10 finish in the 200 yard backstroke at the Big Ten Championships last year as a freshman. In 2011 and 2012, Byrd won back to back state titles in the 100 backstroke. The first Cardinal to get a scholarship to Madison, Byrd says he made the right choice becoming a Badger.
