According to the news today, an Antigo man is out of jail on a $300 cash bond for charges involving marijuana.
Aaron T. Schofield of Rollwood Road, age 17, has been charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia.
Schofield had been arrested on Sunday after an auto accident where his car had overturned when he overcorrected. He was not injured in that incident. When the Sheriff's deputy arrived, he smelled marijuana, but, Schofield denied that he had any drugs to begin with. He later admitted it when a search of his vehicle yielded several drug-related items.
Law enforcement found a bag with about 17.5 grams of pot, 3 pot pipes, a grinder, digital scale, wrapping papers, a partially burned joint and around 80 small plastic bags, some with pot residue in them. Schofield told the officer that he had smoked a bowl earlier. He also admitted that he planned to sell most of the marijuana and that he buys about an ounce a week and sells it to others, indicating that number to be around 30 to 40 people.
Judge Kawalski recused himself from this case. A new judge will be assigned.

Time and time again I come to this site to see how the cannabis debate is still going and again I see the "haters" spewing their filth about the medical plants usage.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4el6EGqcUw take a moment to watch this video and you will see the faces of the dying pleading for safe access. Thease people are not losers and they are no different from those who live next door to you in Antigo.
Here is what a medical cannabis clinic looks like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8XPdHD_jng
With a well run cannabis clinic, liveable wage jobs are produced, tax revenue is generated for government, charitable giving is increased and the sick and dying have safe access to properly grown medical grade cannabis.
Until you have accurate information about cannabis and it's role in modern society YOU WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE IN A POLICE STATE.
For all the haters "I pity you for all your misdirected anger".

If pot is a wonder drug like you say. Then plead your pot cases to the supreme court if this is what you believe. Knocking a small time police department or bashing them shows how intelligent you all are! If pot is a good plant take it up with the ones who have the powers to change it. Or you can move to a state where it is legal. Until then shut up & stop all the whining! Don't sit around here hating the game you chose to play, knowing full well its illegal. You all make yourselves look stupid when you complain & get upset because the police ARE doing their jobs. Remember pot is still illegal!

I never siad petition the police. I saod wave your signs and banners proudly in front of the cop shop. Better yet, light up some weed and show them your POTition on the matter!
As far as the pothead who ran in the ditch, he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
I wonder how may of you pot loving right winger hippies really care about the rights that we have that are being threatened by the "police state"? Smoking pot is not a right, but the items mentioned in the constitution sure are, and they are constantly under attack by a certain element in our govenment. Put down you dope and worry about something that really matters, and if you can't do that, then smoke away, but shut your yaps and quit drawing attention to yourselves.

You obviously don't get it. You can't pick and choose. You either choose liberty and freedom or you don't. You can't say support my definition of freedom but hell I'll never support your beliefs regarding the same. The Constitution doesn't GIVE you JACK! It limits what the government thinks it can do to you. My rights are from my Creator not some clown in any government in this sorry country! So in conclusion. If you are actually going to take a stand for freedom and ask others the same. Then you had best be prepared to support "others" than your narrow view of what the Constitution limits and grants. Take care.

I can't say that I smoke pot, I don't, I tried it as a teen and I grew to hate it. That being said, I support the efforts to legalize it- it's a waste of taxpayers money to continually lock up a demographic of society for a traditionally victimless crime.
However, that is precisely the one thing that always seems to be lost on both sides of his debate- that corrections is the biggest industry in this country; and with Wall Street, laws and court cases = $$$$ to them. The more people that get locked up- the more money they make. With that as an incentive- who really thinks for one moment that anything will change any time soon?
Also, both sides here need remedial English for f*cks sake! English and critical thinking need to be made mandatory in our public school system. But seriously, I think you people would congest any possible dialect with your bantering. And probably even further degrade the possibilities of meaningful dialect using the Internet as a tool for such.
Please go and look at some memes of cats, because its obvious that this is a lost cause. As long as CCA profits by locking people up- they will continue to do so. And when they run low on certain populations, they will lobby for more redundant laws that accomplish nothing, so that politicians can postulate about how "tough on crime" they are.

LOL, the guy speaking in the video sounds like he should be reading the story "Jack and Beanstalk" instead of talking about this. People do whatever they want and who am I to judge. I myself, smoked it a few times in my younger years and was not impressed. Until the Law says it is legal, getting busted is all you're going to get.

I have never smoked pot, but I know people who have or still do. I know people who have benefited from the effects of pot. It is illegal. If you choose to use, you choose to face the legal consequences if you get caught.
Also, FYI... even if the state legalized marijuana the federal government still holds that it is illegal.

My question is not about the pot, but about the judge. WHY did the judge step down from this case?
