Details: JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES Performs a variety of fundamental field engineering tasks supporting the installation, operations, testing and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems. Work is at an entry level and is performed as a member of a survey team. Analyze project survey objectives, specifications, and requirements in order to prepare and execute surveys and to assist in project planning and project timeline development. Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish fixed points, baselines, elevations and other geodetic measurements using theodolites, transits, levels, electronic total stations, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS). Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location and elevations and dimensions as required Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites. Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data in order to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of geomorphic and topographic features. Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, and reports of surveys in order to describe, clarify, and explain work performed. Coordinate findings, and/or results with customers, engineers, technicians, supervisors, management and other project stakeholders. Research, specify, recommend, and purchase equipment and supplies as needed for office and field operations for successful mission completion. Evaluate and make priority determinations on work requests to ensure timely completion and successful mission activities. WORKING CONDITIONS This position involves work typical of both an office environment and an outdoor remote field environment with no unusual hazards. Must have a professional knowledge of both conventional and GPS surveying techniques and specialized software including, but not limited to: ESRI ArcGIS, Autodesk Infrastructure Design and applicable data reduction software for appropriate field equipment. Must have the ability to operate standard survey field equipment including theodolites, electronic total stations, GPS equipment and data collection systems. Must be proficient in surveying procedures, methods and practices. Must have an ability to interpret engineering plans and drawings. Must have an ability to perform horizontal and vertical survey calculations as well as coordinate system computations and conversions. Must qualify for and maintain a Security Clearance and possess a current state issued driver's license.

Details: JOB SUMMARY-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Services and calibrates Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) in a Precision Measurement Laboratory (PMEL) shop environment. Services and calibrates TMDE items in the Electrical/Electronic, communications/Microwave and Physical/Dimensional metrology disciplines to 33K series technical order specifications. Operates and maintains manual and automated calibration stations and equipment and processes TMDE equipment in and out of the laboratory. Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and effects repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition. Manipulates computer keyboards and views and interprets computer displays.
